The talents from AMD who are jumping ship to join Intel’s graphics team is growing.

The latest hire of Intel is Heather J. Lennon, AMD’s former manager for global marketing and communication. Based on her LinkedIn profile, Lennon worked for AMD starting in November 2014.

She first served as AMD’s go-to-market manager. She handled the company’s performance component products. In less than a year, Lennon joined AMD’s Radeon Technologies Group. In her Tweet on Monday, Lennon said she is excited to join Intel as its manager for Digital Marketing.

Lennon joins the other former bigwigs of AMD who chose to join Intel, particularly the company’s graphics unit. Two years ago, Raja Koduri, AMD’s head for around four decades, became Intel’s senior vice president. Koduri now leads Intel’s Core and Visual Computing Group.

The following year, Jim Keller, the former processor architect of AMD who worked on Zen, was also hired by Intel. Keller is now leading Intel’s silicon engineering team. But Keller was with Tesla prior to joining Intel. Aside from AMD and Tesla, Keller’s extensive experiences include Apple.

Also in 2018, Chris Hook, the former Senior Director of Global Product Marketing of AMD, was also hired by Intel. Hook was with AMD for nearly two decades before he became Intel’s first discrete graphics marketing employee.

Hook was hired to direct Intel’s marketing efforts for visual technologies and discrete GPU products. Hook previously said that Intel will be expanding its portfolio across media, imaging, graphics, computing, and machine intelligence.

It was probably the company’s vision as it continued to hire more technology marketing veterans. Aside from Koduri and Hook, former AMD product marketing director Darren McPhee also joined Intel in October 2018. McPhee worked at AMD for almost a decade. He is now Intel’s Director of Product Marketing for their discrete graphics unit.

Aside from AMD’s directors, Intel was also able to secure tech specialists from other companies like NVIDIA. The latest was Tom Petersen, who was NVIDIA’s former technical marketing director. Petersen joins Intel as an “Intel Fellow.” Critics saw this as an added boost to Intel’s aim to make a niche at the GPU market.

Ryan Shrout, the former editor-in-chief of PC Perspective is also Intel’s chief performance strategist now.

Meanwhile, Kyle Bennett, who founded HardOCP joins Intel as its director of enthusiast engagement. Analysts say hiring talents from other companies is a common industry practice. But the number of former AMD employees joining Intel remains an interesting trend. T
