Bethesda’s MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online is getting a huge amount of content added with the Greymoor chapter being released soon. In a recent letter from Matt Firor, Game Director with ZeniMax Online Studio, it was revealed that the studio is confident they’ll be able to launch Greymoor later this month on Tuesday, May 26th for PC/Mac.

The console release is a little bit behind, unfortunately, coming in early June. Console players can expect to play on Tuesday, June 9th on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Firor warns that it could theoretically change if something happens from outside of their control, and cautions that it’s the first major update they’ve released while working on a remote basis, so unforeseen are far from an unlikely occurrence.

“As you are probably aware, we have more people playing ESO right now than at any point since 2015,” Firor says, discussing server integrity. “We are very grateful that ESO is able to provide so many people a welcome respite from the ongoing crisis. So far our servers have been holding up under the strain of so much activity, but as the massive number of you playing does not seem to be subsiding, we have recently added more server capacity to PC EU to ensure it stays that way.”

Firor also acknowledges the “delayed input” problem that has stopped key and button presses from registering in high-stress situations such as large PvE events. The development team has been looking into the issue for possible causes as well as different fixes that they can try, but don’t have a set solution just yet, though Firor assures players that there will be an update as soon as possible.

Firor closes by discussing their continued effort to hunt down and fix performance problems and work on both client and server optimizations, with several fixes being applied with the upcoming Update 26. There will, as with the delayed input issue, be more released in this regard as the team knows more about what they can say and can fix. Firor assures players that they as developers are also regular players of the game and know how annoying the random glitches and performance drops can be and that they’re doing everything they can to fix things.

And that’s all there is in this recent update! As Greymoor comes closer and closer, we’re sure to find more information coming out of the development team. Hopefully we’ll be able to receive the title without any further delays as the team works through this punishingly new and different environment.
