Xbox Game Pass PC decided to post a tweet and video with the tagline “nowhere else we’d rather be fallmaxxing” that will be a downright fall treat to the eyes because of the fall theme. It is expected that as days pass by the brand will start to become more and more familiar with their surrounding anyhow, it is not at all the same story if one would go to see people’s reactions from the comments under that tweet. All of a sudden, some of the ongoing subscription plans are canceled and thus the environment was turned into a graveyard without a warning.
The gravity of the situation with this tweet… is beyond imagination. Not so long before that, Xbox Game Pass had disclosed the information about the percentage at which the prices of the pack that offers a subscription for a month is going up very high. It was kind of a surprise to see that players are extremely furious with Xbox. All those who were making comments were just complaining about how much they disliked the new pricing idea, or in other words, the Xbox Games being sold at higher prices only to be later played upon by subscription.
There is not only despair with the decision but also joy from the side of the consumers who are getting hooked up with the games. With Hogwarts Legacy, the situation was such that it is mentioned with excitement as a major source of buzz by someone referring to it as “my love hogwarts” and another one announcing he or she will “try Hogwarts on PC after beating it on console a couple times.” From one perspective, the content is getting into same intense debates, but it is the way the delivery is oddly becoming, which is causing the contention.
One of the international views that are agitating the fans is the comment of a supporter from Brazil who stated “120 Reais nessa desgraça de Gamepass. Nem fodendo.” that is if translated it would be “120 Reais in this damn Gamepass. No fucking way.” The gamers’ community in Brazil is going to feel the pain very hard as a result of that significant price hike which in simple terms the regional prices are moving to extremes. A member of the Hispanic-speaking region raised the query if Sony could be also contemplating Microsoft’s approach regarding the raising of subscription fees that led to realize that it was not only so much an exclusive matter to be with Xbox but the situation was industry-wide and the cut was very deep and wide.
One of the biggest headlines concerning the incident is that many quickly blame the financial decisions taken by the companies. For instance, one person reasoned that the whole Call of Duty series failed as a result of the acquisition of $69 billion and therefore the players that made it possible for the corporate spending to lead to the increase in the rate of the subscription. On the other hand, one of the comments author said he wondered Microsoft had “boiled the frog too fast and it jumped out of the water” which is a word picture that quite describes how fast the changes are happening in and that they are relentless.
The reactions received are just…so much! However, if we have to look for similar expressions, the reactions are in line with the mood. To that extent, Xbox Game Pass PC was very “fallmaxxing” and cozy the customer was definitely taking it the other way round by making it all about the protest against the price rise. This dichotomy would not have happened if there had been no Autumn theme and the crisis of the people. One fan at least went ahead and called it a “so stupid” post due to the company’s context.
But what was I trying to say? Yes — the mix of reactions. Even today, there are still some die-hard fans of the brand who have decided to stay with it; only that they are totally against the pricing model. The higher the number of fans, the more chance of breaking the ice with them.ilarity and wealth of content are keeping the company afloat, the games they are presenting are of high quality, and the monthly fee is very competitive; however, they are going the netflix route by raising the subscription fee and decreasing the number of users.
The whole situation inadvertently reminds one of the instance when Netflix suddenly announced the issue of password sharing so that it could then increase the price. Most of the customers were livid and for a moment thought of quitting, nevertheless, the service survived eventually, and the reason in most cases had been the content library still being a great reason to be a user. Xbox might be opting for a similar view – it could be that the games like Hogwarts Legacy and the rest that they are putting into the service will be so amazing that even though one has to pay more per month they will never regret the decision.
Nevertheless the situation could not be hidden and it is coming really strongly. There are people from different parts and with different economic capabilities who are among the ones that are leaving their present plans and look for a new option. Apart from a single batch the protests are becoming universal among people. The autumn feeling remains and so do the cancellations. There is a game that the community members are really interested in playing but at the same time, they are very much concerned about having the fairest price.
In simple terms, at present these are the two challenges that the people are coping with. They are talking too much on the comment section making one to be fascinated about a particular game and frustrated because of the difficulty in getting hold of it all at the same time. It is a complex issue and a high emotional one and surely not what Xbox would be wanting during the cozy autumn.
