There goes Xbox Game Pass, dropping RoadCraft, and the reactions to it have been, weirdly, very interesting. The official tweet was just about “time to hit the road” with a link and nothing more;the replies are sort of a mishmash of joy, bewilderment, and outright rage. It is anarchy.
Okay, so RoadCraft is a driving game for the uninitiated? It’s been somewhat hyped? I think? Honestly, it came out of nowhere for me, but I guess now it is in Game Pass. Which is cool, I guess, for the Xbox guys. But here’s the kicker – Well, it IS NOT on PC Game Pass. And now, this lit a fire under people’s behinds.
Without giving it a second thought, you get some people asking, “For PC too?” and then getting mad when they realize that is not the case. I mean, CyberpunkGamer94 just straight-up wanted to know, “is there a reason for no pc version?” which… is a fair question, honestly. Then things got insane. This other guy, Th3northstar: “Might scrap this subscription due to no pc version. Bunch of losers. Ya’ll have billions of dollars and couldn’t get this on pc? Lame af”. Damn, tell us how you really feel dude.
But some people are pumped for this! Another user says, “Installing right now 😁👍,” and that is the good vibe. And then even Anthony Joseph had the perfect timing: “Literally just checking if it came yet, and I get a notification of this:) lol.” This is the kind of good vibe we want to see.
Then there’s more. Some dude LawWonder TV launched into a weird rant on Charlie Kirk? I don’t even know who that is, but apparently, Xbox Game Pass was mocking him? And now he’s telling everybody to cancel their subscriptions? It’s… confusing. He also dropped a YouTube link as if that would prove something. Internet is wild, y’all.
And then there’s the mod stuff! LJ_2020 dropped the bomb: “🚨BREAKING🚨 Before any player downloads this game From gamepass just know this. You can’t use MODS Unless They Fix this 1 major issue that seems to BE WELL KNOWN BUT IGNORED”. So basically, it means even if they can play it there isn’t a possibility to mod it? For some, it is a huge deal.
The international crowd shows presence as well – Pouet∞Pouet 👽 wrote in French: “I started the installation but it’s going to be hard to tear myself away from helldivers.” Same, man. Helldivers 2 is somewhat overtaking everything right now.
Though this PC-a-Stuff-I-got-To-Think-About keeps coming up. Vigilante8 just said “we want a PC version”; LordGaren started emoting:” Why not on pc😭😭😭”. RaeAGE_ is just enjoying the spectacle: “I love seeing PC gamers cry for Xbox games”. Platform wars continue, I guess.
Some of the chatter also seems to be political commentary? Fundatur ZG said, “I’m not funding fundamentalist terrorist cells anymore and I encourage everyone to do the same”. I’m not sure what that’s about, but okay then.
And Grant Schmarr brought up Bethesda and Blizzard? “I did two days ago when I cancelled my Game Pass – you can thank @bethesda @Blizzard_Ent for that.” I wonder what he’s talking about–probably some recent controversy I missed?
Meanwhile, as chaos erupted, Xbox Game Pass Tweeted once more with a link to play RoadCraft, so at least they’re trying to stay relevant. And meanwhile, dmg_sweden is streaming it, so that’s cool.
But, honestly, the big takeaway from all this is that PC players feel snubbed—again. This is becoming a trend with Game Pass where some games end up being console only and it’s irritating the players. Like, they’re paying for the service too right? Shouldn’t they be given the same games?
Basically, the RoadCraft released for Xbox players: some are happy and some are mad, and then it’s just the Internet being the Internet. A typical Tuesday in the gaming world, I suppose. If you’ll excuse me, I have a search to conduct on what this RoadCraft really is…
