Xbox Game Pass tweeted cryptic messages and created a frenzy: “hope you’re cool with underground research facilities” along with the link to Abiotic Factor. Let’s just say the reactions have been a wild mixture of hype, chaos, and highly specific demands.
Calling Abiotic Factor a moment of Game Pass would not be wrong-the crazy survival sci-fi that should appeal to anyone who gets lost in spooky laboratories to solve the tricks to not dying. The tweet plays the mystery card, but the responses? Oh boy, wonderful roller coaster. Some gamers are beginning to get into it. For example, beatnik_p praises Atomfall (another underground facility adventure) and calls Abiotic Factor “great fun” with multiple endings. Apparently, choices do matter, which is always a win.
But not everybody is here for the vibes. Quite a few players are, uh, very passionate about other things. Like, for example, the Game Pass sharing features deciding that they are taking a vacation now. Multiple users including yooo__kai and pure010101 are crying into the wind about how they can’t share Game Pass with their friends. Xbox’s response? Crickets. Meanwhile, VCsnip3r has crashes and overheating warnings (even though, and I quote: “not overheating”) to add to the mix. Classic.
Then, of course, it is back to demands and salt. All good prayers that they are already well on their way to Heaven from Gyupyrope with Demon’s Souls, while CyberBFoStar is begging Phil Spencer to bring them Stellar Blade for Xbox, and even offers to pay $80 for it. Now JapanHatesXbox… well, is living up to that username by dissing Game Pass as a “welfare service” and demanding it stay far away from Persona games. Harsh.
But here we are again, all the way at Abiotic Factor. Xbox Game Pass replied to GrimSaiko with “you’re about to have a great week, trust,” basically a ringing endorsement. Despite all of his cynicism about Game Pass’s lineup this year, however, Drax_Sklounst called Abiotic Factor “the only game all year worth a shit” on the service. Is that High praise? Or Really low bar? You decide.
For the UK guys who are scratching their heads as to why they aren’t allowed to play yet, TimMitc94465409 explained that Game Pass drops have a tendency to get delayed based on region. So hold tight, Liam Beauman, your underground research facility awaits.
In short? Abiotic Factor is here, weird, and people are either obsessing over it or are too busy yelling about Game Pass features to care. And that pretty much keeps Xbox Game Pass unpredictable. Now, if the scientists would just fix that sharing issue…
