Even though the graphics in 2K’s upcoming WWE game look like a significant downgrade from previous years, the game will feature quite a bit of single-player content, not the least of which is the character creation suite, as it has reportedly received a fair amount of additions.
According to reviewers, while the creation suite for WWE 2K20 isn’t a major departure from prior WWE games, it has received some improvements. But, according to Forbes, there’s nothing groundbreaking about creating a character in the upcoming annual pro wrestling game.
“Just know everything that was in 2K19 from a creation standpoint, aside from the delayed CAC, is in and more,” said Forbes’ Brian Mazique. “We’re not talking about groundbreaking additions to the suite, but anything that is added to what was already a great set of options is a plus.”
If you’re not interested in creating characters and/or participating in the game’s career mode, then, according to the reviewers, the DLC content is worth the price of admission.
Upon release, there will be a DLC add-on, which is part of the season pass, called Bump in the Night. If you’re unfamiliar with what the extra content will include, well, it’s a horror-themed DLC which is centered around “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. In the mode, Wyatt becomes “The Swampfather,” which is a supernatural creature that possesses unprecedented power.
You can take a loot at the Bump in the Night DLC the video below.
Aside from featuring Bray Wyatt as “The Fiend,” the Bump in the Night add-on will also feature “The Demon King” Finn Balor, and alternate, zombified versions of Aleister Black, Braun Strowman, Randy Orton, and Sheamus. As previously mentioned, the DLC will be free for players who purchased WWE 2K20’s season pass, but it is also able to be purchased and downloaded individually.
Over the summer, it was revealed that 2K and their longtime partner Yukes had split ways, as there was reportedly a ton of friction between the two sides. Since separating themselves from the sports-gaming giant, Yukes has revealed that they’re working on a wrestling game, which will serve as an alternative to wrestling fans who want to play something instead of the annual 2K game.
As of this writing, Yukes hasn’t revealed anything about their wrestling game, but the most popular theories are a WWE SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain remake, and a video game featuring the upstart All Elite Wrestling, which launched their weekly television show — Dynamite — earlier this month.
We’re a little less than 48 hours away from the release of WWE 2K20, as the game will hit consoles and PC on Tuesday, October 22.
