World of Warcraft can be complicated at times due to such a big player base. Some players want one thing, others want another, and it becomes harder and harder to get the millions of players to agree.

One thing that much of the player base seems to agree on, though, is the more characters, the better. World of Warcraft allows up to 50 characters, with the per-realm cap being 10, and it’s a common complaint for players to ask for more (even though 50 characters certainly sounds like more than enough).

But with all those characters, how do you get them all to max level? World of Warcraft offers plenty of ways to boost this – XP potions, heirloom gear, even buyable character boosts – but 120 levels is a lot to get through no matter what you have to help out.

That’s part of why Blizzard turned so many heads with the event they’ve been running for the last few weeks or so. To help encourage players to stay at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, Blizzard offered double-XP for all players on the retail servers. While Classic players weren’t able to benefit this (which would defeat the entire purpose of Classic anyway), anyone playing on the Battle for Azeroth servers were.

This sparked a huge influx of new alts, as players were able to level pretty swiftly, especially with a full set of heirlooms and the War Mode experience buff on as well. Now, however, it’s approaching an end, with April 20th – only players aren’t wanting it to end.

On social media across Reddit and Twitter, fans are asking Blizzard to extend the event. We still aren’t much closer, if closer at all, to the end of isolation and self-quarantine, so having the event extended would still serve as a great boost for players still stuck inside.

Some have even called for it to be extended indefinitely, as it makes the leveling process significantly quicker, making the journey through old expansions and content an easier grind. It’s even better for dungeons, where the significant experience reward at the end goes twice as far.

Blizzard hasn’t commented on this lately, and it remains to be seen if the player base will have their prayers answered. One thing is for sure, it would go a long way to make the periods of self-isolation much more interesting. Hopefully Blizzard listens to their fanbase and extends the event for a few more weeks.
