The official VALORANT Champions Tour EMEA account shared some hype news for this weekend. The Team France versus Team EMEA showmatch is happening right before the Grand Final on Sunday, at 17:00 CEST, which is technically Central European Time. It’s sort of a pre-hype exhibition before the actual serious stuff.

The tweet says, “A little fun before the fight,” accompanied by a dancing emoji-a fitting description for these kinds of showmatches. Strange chaotic energy with players just experimenting with things they would never even consider in a real sense-a showmatch will certainly be streamed on their usual channels.

Now, that gets interesting- possibly no one is sure who’s playing?? That tweet just says, “Who do you think will join us on the #VCTEMEA stage?” and the replies have been wild with speculation, with players tossing names out there to try and guess the rosters.

KC_Dthanggz shared an all-star EMEA line-up featuring Riens from Turkey, Kaajak from Poland, Keiko from the UK, Magnum from the Czech Republic, and Suygetsu from Russia. Gathering all those guys for a show match would be absolutely insane, but… would they ever actually do that? Well, probably not, but it’s fun to think about.

Then you also have some players, like Afif_Shirsho, who’re asking about Team France – “Team France- Natank, Beyaz and who who who?'” which is funny, obviously; we know a few names, but the full roster? For EMEA, he just spills, “I have no idea,” and honestly, that’s the vibe.

In the replies, the community is going absolutely haywire; some are wondering whether content creators will be involved with the pros. M8Kaiyu responded to KC_Dthanggz, “I think it’ll be some content creators not pro players,” which would be great. That would be awesome if streamers and pros were mixed together on these teams.

There are even those inquiring about particular players, like malim108mc, who asks if Yinsu is in Team EMEA. Another asks, “Does Team EMEA need a fifth?” Like they’re volunteering to join; that’s the aim, really. I’d be down for that for sure.

What’s great is seeing all the languages in the replies; you got English, you got French, then there’s some other language mixed in. Everybody’s hyped about this showmatch concept. It doesn’t happen often in VALORANT, this region versus region thing, especially in EMEA, which, of course, is a ton of different countries.

Perfect timing too-just before the Grand Final, so everyone’s gonna be there watching the stream already, so try to get as many eyes on it as possible for this little fun exhibition. That’s a pretty smart move by the tournament organisers.

I’d be about three shades of happy if they threw some curveballs at us and threw in some unexpected players, whether an emerging ace from the regional leagues, or maybe even a retired player coming back for a one-time showdown. Oh my god, that would be sooooooo amazing to watch!

Also, the hashtag #VCTEMEA is already trending with all the speculations. People are drawing up their dream teams and everything. The hype before the actual grand final is crazy and probably the whole point behind it.

What’s interesting is that some players say that some pros might very well not be available because they actually have matches to prepare for, like he says, “Shin has a match on Tuesday (02/09), so I don’t think he’s going to play, and he needs to practice with his team.” So these things are bound to take some logistics to figure out.

I’m just so hyped for whatever it’s going to be. EMEA has so much talent in-so many countries-FR, Turkey, UK, Russia, Poland. It will be insane, putting together a dream team from across the whole of Europe against just France.

That said, France has some absolutely cracked players, so this might actually be a competitive match. They’re definitely not just gonna roll over because they’re outnumbered country-wise. French VALORANT is pretty strong.

Anyway, mark your calendars for Sunday at 17:00 CEST. Whether you’re there for the showmatch or for the grand final after, it’s gonna be a fun day to watch VALORANT. I’ll be tuning in personally to see what crazy team compositions they come up with and which players are gonna be flexing in this interesting exhibition.

And it’s these types of events that really help to make esports such great fun-filled moments: the hardcore competitions balanced with sheer entertainment. It is a similar reminder to everyone that at the end of the day, we play and love this game. It lets the pros chill out and enjoy a little fun while the serious stuff is about to kick off.

I can’t wait to see who ends up on that stage. The speculation already is so much more entertaining than some of the actual VALORANT matches I’ve seen. I’ve been waiting for Sunday too long.
