IGNITE CAPSULE is two years to the day, and nostalgia hits the community of VALORANT extraordinarily hard. The bundle that has the stylish knife skin and other goodies has reached mythical status in the community since it has been vaulted since its original release. Players are definitely not happy about it.

When VALORANTLeaksEN put out their celebratory tweet for its anniversary, a whole lot of replies poured in begging for its return. A member of the community, @tartagliasluvr, joked, “I’d sell my soul if I ever got to see this back in the shop again.” Another, @Dragy, pretty much admitted to paying “50k VP” (that is Valorant Points, by the way) if Riot pushed for an unvaulting. Now that could be some cool dedication—or just plain crazy desperation.

An ordinary cosmetic drop this was not, all hype aside for the Ignite Capsule. It had an unusual kind of aesthetics: clever, futuristic, flashy, but not too much. This knife was, in essence, an emblem of pride. Those who got their hands on one—like @velvetxoxoo, who gushed about using it for the purple variant today—wear it with pride, while those who missed out are left staring, wishing, and waiting for another chance with @inner_moonBTS.

Well, not everyone shares that sentiment. @kozerog200 mentioned that despite all the hype in the beginning, they barely, if ever, see anyone pull this skin out in matches these days. Maybe one of those. “You don’t know what you got till it’s gone”? Or else a case of everyone just being too cool for it. Either way, near deafening clamor for a comeback has indeed arrived.

Then we reach the sentimental parts. @Gambs305 shared that their ex bought them the bundle, calling it “good times.” Ouch. Well, not even virtual knives can steer clear of drama. Then, on another note, @synchromised gave the capsule’s issuance a place in history as to when they actually began playing VALORANT, thus making it a bittersweet memory.

So, Riot chimes in from time to time to resurrect skins from the past (and we all know about the Oni Phantom), so there still might be hope. But until then, the Ignite Capsule rests in limbo, a cute little reminder of what could once again come to be, if the devs dare to listen to their disgruntled player base.

So, Riot: are you watching? The people have spoken. Bring. It. Back. Or give us at least some compensation in the form of a reskin, please?

(And if you happen to be one of those very few lucky ones who grabbed it back in the day—congratulations. You may as well have a goldmine of nostalgic memory in your hands.)
