ValorLeaks genuinely dropped firebombs on Twitter. Like, out of nowhere. S25 Act V Battlepass playercards were unveiled at the eleventh hour, and the Valorant community is pissed about them. And by pissed I mean divided; with one faction calling them fire, the other claiming trash, and there is no middle ground, which, really, is a saga for any game leak.
The leak muestra nuevos player cards que supuestamente llegará con el battlepass que viene. And there’s one of them featuring a mysterious woman that everyone believes to be a new agent teaser. Like, who is she?? The responses are flooded with people asking just that. Somebody even dropped, “New agent teaser pausechamp,” and that was basically it. Really does resemble that vibe. The art style is different, and she doesn’t look like any existing character, so hype is real.
Another note-worthy thing is that the Jett kunai card is stealing the show. Multiple commentators are calling it “peak” and “sick af.” Meanwhile, one user named tqrmcc simply said, “The Jett kunai one is peek.” So if you are a Jett main, you may well have a new favorite thing to grind for. Koenji1god added, “The Jett Knive card looks nice🔥,” so it appears this one is a universal W.
Now…the flipside. User hot Joe had the brutally honest reply: “Lmfaooo these are ass.” juzzoun and katoraoo expressed divergent views on these designs. Some of them don’t like the designs. And then it is a long discussion concerning the “5 year” anniversary logo plastered on them. Numerous players consider it as well ruining the artwork. nic0lasXV started it with “they’d look so good without the 5 year thingy around it,” and then sjp_atmosphere agreed by adding, “Seriously. That took up so much space and looked horrible.” So Riot Games might really want to listen to that advice.
And then there’s the ongoing Sova drama. Poor Sova mains feel snubbed. RyuuBei_ pointed out that there was “No Sova Card for 5 years I guess,” which is a pretty long time to go without some love. That kicked off a whole discussion where another user, swiftdriftslay, said there was a Sova card in Episode 9 Act 2. But RyuuBei_ shot back that it doesn’t count because Sova didn’t get a special card for the 5-year anniversary itself, while “Jett got 3 xdd, poor guy just got a spray :c.” The struggle is real for bow and arrow fans.
We also got some intel on release timing. When asked when the battlepass would drop, tqrmcc went with “Soon in a few hours.” So hopefully, whether you’re reading this currently or somewhat in the past, it might be out already. Prepare to grind.
There’s a comment by alandavl in Portuguese, which roughly means ‘Every iso card is eating, fucking dead animal from hunger.’ which is…a very specific and vivid critique of ISO player cards. I don’t even know what that means but it sounds intense.
And then, that everlasting classic gamer moment where somebody comes to the realization that buying battle passes is just a FOMO trap. OutrunPilot said: “It’s funny how when you stop buying passes you see it was a lock in fomo thing that serves no purpose.” Preach. We’ve all been there, buying stuff online we really couldn’t give two cents about a week later.
Yeah, new VALORANT battlepass player cards are here-or thereabouts-and the community is cut right down the middle. Half of them hype the new agent tease and Jett bling, half call the designs mid and the anniversary branding tacky. The entire Sova neglecting saga continues. Pretty much a normal day for Valorant Twitter. Just another batch of digital cosmetics to fight about for a little while and then start buying anyway. Wait, what was I saying? Oh right…check if the pass is out.
