Have I mentioned how Riot just dropped a bomb on the VALORANT community? Well, the very prospect of its return with the controversial map Breeze has caused an uproar. Some are screaming for it to come back while others won’t even entertain the idea of the map!

The tweet by ValorINTEL simply asked, “Do you miss Breeze?” and apparently teasing its return. What followed was mayhem. G2 mimi 🌻 full caps scream, “YES. BRING IT BACK!!!!!” On the other hand, a bit ominous, Mr. Donuts 🍩🫂 comes in just as blunt: “No one miss Breeze”.

Some are stuck in the middle: They say they kind of miss the map, but that it is still really bad for competitive play. Jay (Lilli love acc) nailed it: “just a little bit… still bad map for comp q.” And those feelings are rather mutual really. Either you love it or hate it with those large open spaces and long sightlines of Breeze. They either paint you as a god or as a sitting duck.

From the Spanish side of the community, LEV texziN đź’™ argued “Breeze >> Icebox” while sapote responded with “La solucion es borrar los 2 mapas del juego.”

Then some other players show up with a non-mainstream take. Res popped in with “I don’t even play Val what is this.” From here, Brodie takes it to a level all his own with an unhinged all-caps rant that begins, “WHY IS THIS TRASH MAP COMING BACK!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!”

A bigger question yet: Why tease the return of Breeze now? It had been removed from the competitive and unrated rotations in January, replacing it with Abyss. Some are speculating a rework while others assume it is just getting rotated back in as-is. Either way, the community is divided almost down the middle.

NAVI Valorant stood firm: “Breeze over Abyss ANYDAY,” while Kim Beish sarcastically said, “If by miss you mean the literal opposite of that word then yeah.”

Taller than Chamber mains that thrived on Breeze, Merlin declared, “You’ve never seen a 18-0 with Chamber on breeze. (It was me).” Respect.

What’s next? If Breeze returns, will Riot tweak it a bit to try to make it less polarizing? Or will they just drop it into the bargain box and unleash chaos? Neither option was even remotely ready for by the VALORANT community.

One thing for sure, whether you love or hate Breeze, it will stir some conversation. And that, in all honesty, is the charm of VALORANT. The drama, the debates, the all-caps rage tweets—all of this is part of the game.
