So a really great concept was generated by Ubisoft Massive in the realm of The Division 2. The agents from all countries around the world were invited to the studio for some behind-the-scenes with upcoming matters, workshops, and hands-on feedback. The whole idea was to build a connection with the devs and players. They actually did drop a teaser for this. On how the community took it, well… the opinions were aplenty.
For starters, some players are stoked. Like, really stoked. One player named TethisX basically noted the first Division was great, Division 2 was going strong, but then it sort of fell with Warlords of New York. His suggestions? Get rid of PVP completely (ouch, very controversial), and make Dark Zones into high-stakes co-op raids accompanied by bosses who are just a little bit too hard. And CrossPlay? “We really need that.” Couldn’t agree more.
Some are throwing shade, though. Joshua Ryder laid down his doubts: “Are they just giving high-fives to influencers?” Meanwhile, SplinterShields, one of the invited agents, suffered an existential crisis watching himself on camera: “Is that really me?” Mood.
The spicy takes, now. Some players went as far to accuse Ubisoft of milking Division 2 dry. “How many more years you gonna drag this out?” another one asked. Another went for the nuclear option: “TD3 cancelled.” Yikes. On the other side, LividFray termed these times a “mended relationship” moment between devs and players. Glass half-full, eh?
And the PVP lot? They felt abandoned. ToOdAmEEzZ wasn’t shy: “You’re ditching the community that put this game on the map.” Meanwhile, Terminator T-8OO threw cheap shots at the agents’ Watch levels: “Bet none of ’em are above 1,000.” Harsh.
Next are… The questions about Division 3. So many: “Where’s Div3?” “When’s Div3?” “HURRY UP WITH DIV3.” Ubisoft stays silent in the meantime, but the players are ab-so-lutely im-pat-ient.
Then, after all this? CrossPlay petitions, PVP gif graphics, and a whole lot of “give us Div3” vibes. At least they’re listening, or trying at any rate. Is that enough? Time will tell for the agents to decide.
But one thing’s for sure — The Division 2 community is passionate. Love it or hate it, they’re here to stay. If Massive plays its cards right? Possibly, they can turn the tide. Or at least cool down those PVP riots.
Until then? We might need to wait and maybe reinstall for good measure.
