The 90s Action Heroes event is live now in COD5. That means the players can log in, log XP, and earn some of the new awesome gear via Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. The new Mister Peeks Field Upgrade and, obviously, Boxing Glove Melee Weapon. Boxing gloves in a shooter? Well, I mean, question is: why wouldn’t you use them?
The event is filled with retro vibes, so along with the new unlockables, there will be featured playlists to check out. Cranked Moshpit is back, Snipers Only for all those guys that choose to camp, Endurance Stakeout, Nuketown 24/7 of course, and Small Map Moshpit for all those days when you are just feeling like running around and blowin’ stuff up in close quarters.
Now on the players’ opinion? Split. Very much, actually. Some neck-deep in elation. A player with handle @davmar1504 said “finally, an update that nails nostalgia without turning the game into a playgroundbalance restored.” That’s nice, of course. And boxing gloves, rightfully so, were being discussed by @dikwey: “finally, a way to settle arguments without a killstreak tally.” That actually made me crack up.
On the other hand… Aron the other hand, some players just are not feeling this event. @CheechedGaming had to put a dagger in their throat in saying: “This is why you guys are failing. Utter dog shit event after event. Garbage franchise now.” Ouch. Then @gpr1me weren’t holding back neither: “The skin for the event is so ass please be for real.” They really hated the cosmetics.
So throwing in the whole… timing factor? Some players have been pondering whether there’s any point whatsoever in playing this event with Black Ops 6 soon set to launch. @LikeMike593 spoke: “ANOTHER XP EVENT?! NAHHH skipped…. nothing to do. Such a weak content year, and slop ops 7 next too, nope. Studios washed.” Pretty harsh indeed yet you can totally understand where they are coming from.
That means cheating complaints? Always cheating complaints. @CitizenSMASH inquired: “Has matchmaking just completely broken this week or is every lobby just 70%+ hackers amd chronus cheaters? Been literally unplayable all week.” If this is happening, that’s quite disappointing. And @JimTrout14 straight-up said: “Did you forget to turn on the ‘anticheat’ today?” Damn.
Moving even further outside the circle are the players. @JBReaperZ dropped the bomb: “Bf6 is going to smoke yall.” Talking about Battlefield 6. And @mahyvir went even further: “Nahh. Dead by Daylight is way more fun than this trash right now. I’ll pick up Battlefield 6 when it launches. I mean, Clown of Duty with fortnite skins, futuristic crap, and bunny hops? No thanks.
