In other words, it has been a long time since the PC gamers have had that much-longed moment: the Last of Us Part II, a pure and fine masterpiece by Naughty Dog: released officially for PC. And it is not just a halfhearted port but a game they have truly put everything behind.
First off, if you weren’t occupied playing this gem since it was in any of the stores in people’s hearts last year, may I ask what kind of life you are living?
Revenge is all Ellie has in her heart, while Abby is whatever Abby’s entire thing is-it’s one hell of a whacking-great, the most-divisive eyegasm-which you can now gloriously play in ultra-wide with butter-smooth frame rate and graphics-settings that would make either one cry tears of joy to your GPU.
What’s new for the PC?
– Ultra-wide support- Nothing screams “cinematic” like blocking the entire spectator’s vision with misery from a half-decade of apocalyptic hell.
– PC-optimized graphics- High resolution, better textures, DLSS support (if you’ve got the hardware), and all the other fancy settings PC players tweak for hours on end.
– DualSense features- When paired with a PlayStation controller, you will get haptic feedback and adaptive triggers functionality- Chef’s kiss.
So let us forget for now about that elephant in the room because the game’s narrative still divides people like a clicker’s mandibles do. Some hate Abby; some think Ellie’s arc is a work of art by itself; then some might just feel like taking a brick to something.
Regardless of whether people love or hate-The Last of Us Part II is, in fact, a whole cinematic experience, and now that experience can also be had at 120 FPS as console friends weep away their sorrows on DualShocks.
No word on mod support yet (though imagine Ellie with a lightsaber), but since modders are lots of fun and love to get their hands on big releases, it’s really just a matter of time before someone releases a mod that replaces every single infected one with Shrek. So, PC fam, are you ready to cry and rage, or maybe even throw your mouse? The Last of Us Part II is now upon you. And this time, all for you.
