Ubisoft and Massive have launched the first-ever Creator Collaboration event in The Division 2 with a theme about this guy called DJ Tickle. And ok, the event is live, and the players can jump in and grab tons of exclusive rewards dedicated to the creator until the 21st of October. That gives enough time for grinding, for sure.
But who is DJ Tickle?? Literally, it was the first question of a ton of players. TheZyberSword said, “Who is DJtickle???” And it’s a fair question if you have not been deep into Division 2 content creators. He is a Division content creator, and that’s what he said himself to another player as an answer. The guy is in the game. His stuff is in the game. That, I simply cannot fathom.
Because that’s the major draw for the rewards, players see them out in the open world as apparel–the hoodies and shirts. Agent_irishbull said the hoodie dropped from a backpack in Brooklyn from a random spawn; he posted a screenshot of this discovery. DJ Tickle saw the snap and replied, “Nice! Fits really well with that mask!” So, a pretty cool interaction there. This isn’t just some static loot pool set down for everyone to grab. Players are finding it on their own.
But it wasn’t to be without classic issues that go with a live service game update. Some are reporting various glitches. Bikegirl22 was pretty confused about how she might even start an event time trial at the Lincoln Memorial and asked where the option showed. DJ Tickle was quick to clarify it: “Just start the mission as normal, you should see a counter.” So yeah, little UI clarity issue, maybe. Then there’s David, who basically said, “Well, since the update, the servers have been nothing but disconnects. Game is already too old for this shit.” Oof. ISF.
And then there were the graphics. Losty posted an urgent plea about the “Sanitation” bloom effect that made him feel sick and dizzy…URGENT! Then Daveid_ chimed in with, “Worst nerf to seasonal modifiers that makes impossible to see anything, especially inside buildings,” followed quickly by a question: “Bug or intentional?” So, yeah, there might be some graphics tweaks that are… a bit much for some folks, along with the crisp new clothes.
How a mixed bag the reactions for the event is is pretty stereotypical for any gaming community. I see people totally into it. Jessica Malone loved how the shirt designs are fully visible now and are no longer covered by chest pieces; she rated the new apparel as “fire.” MAD MAX Uncensored simply stated, ‘I love the new Projekts.’ And R1C0 asked the devs to please get more creators involved and said this could be done every season, good stuff.
On the other hand, there’s some hold-up with exclusivity. Shane-o said that on the RogueGold arm patch, only 500 codes were reserved for the creators, questioning why, given the creator has 140,000 subscribers. FrustratedGame4 called that “bs” because no patch was given for everybody since they decided to go the limited code route. Al just straight-up asked, “What do the normal players get?” Which is a very good question, because when you put together an event for a certain creator, what does that mean for people who don’t even have the faintest idea who that is?
Calling collaboration interesting. RATED F GAMING LLC was pretty skeptical; they said they’d never heard of him and that Ubisoft should “stick to create division. Contents. And keep it division.” Whereas Bikegirl22 dropped a comment with comic timing, noting how funny is that people who claim no one plays the game are so interested in who gets recognized in it. There’s always that level of irony.
And so, the first Creator Collab event is out there. With cool loot to find and some confusion to clear up, along with the usual server and visual gripes that come with any update, it’s bound to spark some chatter. Props to DJ Tickle right in the middle of it, responding to players and everything else. The event lasts till the 21st of October, so if you want that exclusive gear, you know what’s up. Hopefully, it’s not too much to hope that the servers behave.
