Ubisoft has just announced that the Agent Garzia outfit will return as a limited-time purchase opportunity from October 3rd to October 24th-with Textiles. This community-voted comeback has sparked enormous patient-level discussions in the community to reveal that players want more than recycled outfits from the devs.
Yeah, news started trickling on the official Division Game account about how Agent Garzia won some sort of community choice award. The winning look will go up for purchase with Textiles for about three weeks during October. However, the reaction to this announcement saw some very much mixed reactions instead of happy ones. A few are actually happy to finally be getting some of these gear sets, and the rest of the players are thinking, “Wait. We already have this.”
Byron went straight for it: “The vast majority of us already have that outfit; it is one you can get from the keys you get for the apparel caches.” And he’s really not wrong. Several agents then came in to bolster that view. Joao Godinho commented that he already owns both of the outfits in contention and is sitting on a stack of 30,000 textiles with tons of boxes still unopened. So really, what’s the point of bringing back something dedicated players have had for ages?
And that carries straight into the grave ones the players are dialing about: they want NEW stuff. Barry Montgomery pleaded, “Already owned plz give us more to use with textiles,” A different user, Bay Life, also pleaded, “We need new clothes/vanity for the apparel (box cache which u can open after 3 levels).” The community is pretty much unanimous: They’re very weary of recycled cosmetics and want to see some new things to spend their deserving textiles on.
But those cosmetic complaints are just on the surface. The Division 2’s PvP community feels downright ignored. ToOdAmEEzZ left nothing on the table with his accusations of the devs “abandoning the pvp community for some ugly ass outfits.” Which is when people began to talk about that never-ending cheating argument that seems to plague all online games. Rin dropped the whole thing with, “Couldn’t give two fucks till cheaters start getting banned.” This opened an entire thread about how PvP in Division 2 is filled with cheaters and that the devs don’t care about the PvP community.
Meanwhile, there are some outfit makes with specifics, yet to be answered. Hanz NRS Cütter hollered, “We need Keener outfit no stupid gay garzia,” while another agent begged for the umbrella outfit. ShoelessGhost wants to try again at those Twitch drop items like the skateboard: “I missed out on those :(“.
There also seems to be a bit of geographical critique?? zWarden said the Garzia outfit seemed “Crazy for New York summer,” which, fair enough—the jacket probably is a little on the heavy side to walk through a pandemic-wrecked summer city. Rod B., however, came back saying the game isn’t just in DC anymore and the jacket could very well be paired with other pieces that just make it more New York.
Then there are those oft-mentioned technical problems some still deal with. heath hardy chimed in on a lingering “journey mission 2 glitch” that is stopping them from progressing, making cosmetics just feels hollow for some, while others can’t even access main game functions.
That retort might just be the wildest, coming from pereiragames21, who commented in Portuguese on the grind that opening apparel caches one by one is. They’re basically saying, “Quando é que vão ter vergonha na cara de criar uma opção para abrir várias caixas de tecido ao mesmo tempo… 12 mil chaves para abrir uma a uma, por amor de Deus.” Yes, sounds awful when you accumulated so many keys.
So what’s the takeaway here?? The Division 2 community is pretty much split. All the newer players or just anyone that missed the first iteration of the Garzia outfit would definitely be very much excited about the chance to experience it once more. On the other hand, the older guys, the ones who have been grinding since day one, they want new. They want new cosmetics; they want QoL improvements such as bulk cache opening and, most of all, they want a fix for cheating in PvP.
Bringbackefan outfit is definitely a good sign, according to Ubisoft, but the player base is waiting to deal with bigger fish. Certainly, though, an increase in activity is expected because of the rather limited engagement period of October 3rd through 24th; whether this will do anything to soothe the deeper sighs is doubtful. Agents will have to decide whether to plonk down textile points for this particular outfit or save for something new.
