One of the more promising games set to release this year for the PS5 is GhostWire: Tokyo from Tango Gameworks. Ever since its gameplay was first teased, many gamers got excited about its potential.

Its first-person visuals around a Tokyo setting look absolutely breathtaking, which are complimented nicely with the psychic abilities your player will have the chance to wield.
The game is currently scheduled to release this year, but just recently at a Sony CES 2021 event, an October release period was given. There wasn’t a distinction on which platform this release will be for. It’s also coming out on PC, but PS5 gamers are hopeful.

October is still quite a bit away, but at least if these reports turn out being true according to Bethesda, there is an official time period to get excited about. In the meantime, it would make sense for Bethesda to provide further clarification as to hold fans over with some news.
In the meantime, you can check out the first-person graphics and unique gameplay for yourself in the trailer up above. It definitely has a lot of atmosphere and is going in a unique direction regarding combat.
The main premise in GhostWire: Tokyo is to take out ghosts now walking about the city. They have evil intentions and you’ll use a combination of ninja moves and spell casting to stop them before they wreak too much havoc on innocent bystanders.
You can see the hand gestures that look particularly unique in the trailer. They may seem like subtle details, but they definitely give the psychic abilities a more polished feel and look fun to perform when you have the chance.
According to the game’s description, once ghosts are weakened enough, their core will be exposed and that’s when you can perform a striking maneuver to kill their spirit.
It’s definitely an interesting take on combat and should provide some compelling moments when GhostWire: Tokyo does officially release — hopefully in October. Either way, it should come out later this year as long as the developer doesn’t suffer any unfortunate setbacks.
2020 was crazy in that regard for developers so anything is possible in 2021. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed, especially those lucky enough to have found a PS5. Slowly but surely, the PS5 library is growing and GhostWire: Tokyo could be a standout title very early on that pushes more units for Sony — who is trying to build momentum in the new year.
