Surgeons are forced to endure a lot of hectic situations in an operating room. There are a lot of variables at play and sometimes, it’s life or death. If you’ve wanted to feel the adrenaline rush of operating on an actual person, Surgeon Simulator was probably the best offering on the marketplace.
It provides realistic surgery simulation with a lot of dark humor. As Dr. Burke, it’s your job to bring patients back to life using non-traditional methods and tools. This game garnered a lot of attention when it released back in 2013.
It was only a matter of time before a sequel was in the works. Fortunately, it is. Surgeon Simulator 2 is currently in development and its closed alpha playtest actually takes place on May 23.
The playtest will be available through the Epic Games Store. If you want to see what advancements have been made from the original, you can still sign up. It seems like the perfect opportunity to see if the sequel trumps the original in various departments.
Considering how fun the original was, it’s probably safe to assume the closed alpha playtest will be a good time. You’ll get to operate on living humans and put your surgeon skills to the test. Naturally, you’ll probably have to overcome a lot of obstacles and do things that might be considered risky by today’s medical standards.
That’s where Surgeon Simulator 2 has the chance to really shine, though. The developer can take this time to double down on the insane surgeon simulation, giving players a truly incredible and memorable experience that will bring them back time and time again.
It’s going to be interesting to see what patients will be available during the closed alpha. The original had a pretty good variety, from aliens to Donald Trump. It would be amazing for players to operate on famous celebrities. It would be a good marketing strategy from Bossa Studios too.
At this current time, there is no official release date for Surgeon Simulator 2. It just has a general 2020 release window. If the alpha tests go well, then expect to here an official announcement sooner rather than later.
Either way, Surgeon Simulator 2 has a ton of potential. It should give players the chance to see what goes on in the operating room and make decisions that truly matter. It’s still not too late to sign up for the closed alpha.
