A tinge of much-needed peculiar facts for Mario fans is what Nintendo gave with the usual flair-it announces the summer slot for Super Mario Party Jamboree: July 24th. The sowing of excitement in the gaming community with Nintendo setting up a precedent with a Nintendo Switch 2 edition and Jamboree TV from their side-as told on the official Twitter of Nintendo of America.
So what really constitutes this new edition? Well, certainly not just something like a repaint of the previous game-a gesture or stern price for some users. So what would those Switch 2 wonders entail? You can bet on very crisp graphics, buttery smooth gameplay, and maybe a few tricks up its sleeve on this current-next-gen party unknown even to us at this time. Jamboree TV could be the first step for Nintendo in becoming a part of this streaming media lake, perhaps with live events or highlight reels. It would be truly refreshing when one thinks of the chaotic multiplayer mayhem this series is all about.
Meanwhile, those that have yet to celebrate include one or two skeptical answers: “Not worth $80!” declared one person outright, whereas another sarcastically observed, “Is Toad gonna charge me 80 bucks per scoop?” Then there is that whole argument about whether it should have been there on the Switch 2-day-one-some are still sore about it.
One reply shouted out to the Party Crashers-a very famous Mario Party content-making group-with a fan expressing excitement at their new series. Then came the obligatory Nintendo Direct question, because no Nintendo announcement is ever complete without a high-pitched demand of “Where’s the Direct??” (Spoiler alert: Still MIA.)
About half of the responses were talking about ice cream, which was funny. It’s a full dessert-craving conversation takeover. Someone reminisced about eating ice cream by the lake with nature sounds playing in the background. Random? Yes, totally. Worth the Twitter chaos? Absolutely.
Development-wise, Super Mario Party Jamboree seems to continue the very usual mix that has been enraging richverbs for some time now: mini-games, board-game hell, and friendship-destroying antics. The Switch 2 update could mean better graphics and faster load times, possibly some exclusive features. And assuming Jamboree TV pans out in the way it’s meant to, we might just have a brand-new way of watching or streaming Mario Party antics.
So make sure to mark your calendars for July 24th, be it for games, upgrades, or just to see Twitter blow-ups coming to life when someone steals a star at the very last minute. Either way, it will be a wild ride. Oh, and for sure, tie in some ice cream for the rainy day until launch-oddly perfect!
