Capcom just announced that Street Fighter Alpha 3 will celebrate its 24th anniversary. The fastest-paced fighting game with the most iconic cast of characters was included in Capcom Fighting Collection 2, which comes with online play and rollback netcode set to release on May 16, 2025. However, the MAX version fans keep wondering why Capcom continues to dodge it.
By the way, Street Fighter Alpha 3 is 24 years old now. That’s like ancient in video-game years. Capcom tweeted to celebrate this, but the replies are what? Omg, the replies are GOLD. Everybody’s going bonkers over it. The tweet mentions “amplifying the last installment,” which, uh, didn’t sit well with hardcore fans.
Like, check what @ItsDaniPlays said: “@StreetFighter Someone at Capcom forgot SF Alpha 3 Max exists, and the actual final installment of SF Alpha series.” Preach, Dani, PREACH! It’s like Capcom is straight-up ignoring the existence of Alpha 3 Max, the version with all the extra characters and features. Why?! We need answers!!
And it’s not just Dani! So many ppl are asking about Alpha 3 Max. @umcara786 hit ’em with: “@StreetFighter Can someone pls tell me why they didn’t use the max version of sfa3 to relaunch?” Like, duh, Capcom, why NOT give us teh definitive version? Are they holding out for Capcom Fighting Collection 3? Is that teh play?

Apparently Capcom worded their tweet a bit…funny. @LokiJarson and @Cheepdude were all over it, wondering if Capcom was trying to hint that there was going to be a new version of Alpha 3. Capcom had to backtrack and clarify: “To clarify, we are not calling Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper the final version of Street Fighter Alpha 3.” Uh-oh, oops!
Some peeps are thirsty for news about *Street Fighter 6*. @AndrewCanadi wants to know, “@StreetFighter @CapcomUSA_ Nice, but when is Poison coming back in SF6?” And @lockhart_rin just wants an Elena teaser trailer! Give the ppl what they want, Capcom!
Honestly, the replies are a wild ride. Everybody’s arguing about which Alpha is better, asking for very specific characters for *SF6*, and just generally being hypbeast.
The clamoring for Alpha 3 Max is deafening. Capcom, do you hear this? We want Eagle, Ingrid, and all that sweet, sweet MAX content! Plus maybe, just maybe, an Elena trailer wouldn’t hurt either. Just sayin’. Also, fix the input delay, pls.
