Another #FanworkFriday showcase went on the parade for Focus Entertainment, now made wholly for the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 experience. The tweet had some absolutely beautiful-ah, beautiful enough to make them come down on the memorial wall-screenshots from the Discord community: Glories to k20yup, redharlock, lockeson, and acexv for these jaw-dropping captures. And really? That White Scars Champion? Straight fire. 🔥
Tweet was simple, but all the hype showed all glories to the official handle of Focus Entertainment and the whole community for sharing their in-game moments. It dared us with shots of that refined armor detail, dynamic action shots, and of course, the White Scars Champion looking like he’s about to drop the hottest mixtape that the Imperium has ever seen. The fun? Well, that lies in the replies. Oh boy, the replies were something else.
First, @yarenertas13 jokingly said the White Scars Champion looks like he “skipped leg day,” well, fair enough. Those pauldrons are MASSIVE. But then there is @kimberl08009199 questioning her whole existence of how good that armor design is. “That drip is unreal,” she said, and honestly? I second that.
Then there were definitely some who diverged from basking in aesthetics and viewed this as an opportunity to call out how things are still not so great. “Yes it’s beautiful but it’s better when we can play without error of connexion…” Oof. Felt that. And @WreslinZone just outright begged Focus to “fix the constant crashing,” which… yeah, that feeling.
Now came those Dark Angels fans. @Knight_Delylos dropped a screenshot of the Dark Angels skin with the caption “showing everyone who is boss,” backed up by @VTdukehector stating, “Dark Angel showing everyone who is boss right here”. Meanwhile, @tousouce was laughing hysterically about Ultramarines constantly going on about “their book and eldar women.” Classic.
Okay, any gameplay thread would have completely done with the Chaos Marines question: “@juan71380685. ‘Caos Marines when??????????????????’ they asked, and honestly? Valid. Need that Chaos drip ASAP.
And then came the sweet ones: @EllisRayFoster1, “Love you Game! Thank you keep it coming @Focus_entmt 🔥🔥🔥🔥,” so sweet. Then @Akuyamigami came along for a well-deserved, “‘great camera angle,'” proving sometimes it really is the little things.
And here comes the real MVP: @ASTROTHUNDER824 showing off their tactical class screenshot like a boss. “In game screenshot of my tactical class ⚔️,” respect-worthy.
What this in turn points to is the fact that a living and thriving community exists around Space Marine 2, filled with gamers who crack jokes, get frustrated, or just hype for the game. Those pictures alone are a treat to look at, and the armor design should quite literally take a bow—and take a bow—and yes, the technical kinks are definitely still there. But one thing is absolutely for sure: When this is working, it is so much fun to play.
Excuse me while I steal a few more moments staring at that White Scars Champion. Just… look at him. Majestic.
