Rockstar gave a very small announcement about GTA Online sales. Warstock Cache & Carry, that in-game website for all your militarized vehicle needs, is offering discounts on decommissioned law enforcement vehicles. Discounts range between 15% and 35%, and they cease to exist after the 24th of September. And if you’re in that GTA+ bubble, you better not miss out on a free Canis Terminus Patrol SUV from The Vinewood Car Club. Pretty standard stuff.

But the replies… If only the replies were a whole other universe. It’s as though Rockstar Games whispered “discount on cop cars,” which then got carried across the entire internet as “GTA 6 NEWS CONFIRMED.” The comment section has since turned into a frenzy between desperation, hope, and a little chao. Just watching the comments unfurl is an absolute joy.

First off, you’ve got those gamers really interacting with the content: Jaden, who said: “Having a blast with the terminus patrol. Great vehicle!” See? Normal. Appreciate it. Then there’s ‘Ⓓⓡ ⓅⒾⓁ + 🐍’ who is already looking ahead, asking for “Next Month Arena Wars 4x AP Points for GTA+.” Makes sense, planning for the future for the current game, right? But these are faint little voices drowning in the storm.

Because the overwhelming, deafening roar is just… GTA 6. Every other comment is a variation of “WHERE IS GTA VI????” It’s like a broken record but if the record was also screaming. ‘TheMichael314’ didn’t even try to be subtle: “Yeah, no one cares. When can we pre-order #GTA6?” Brutal. Just completely dismissed the sale to ask the big question. ‘Flowers Echo’ chimed in “We are waiting for GTA 6!!!!!!!!” – the amount of exclamation points really sells the desperation.

And then the weirdness compounded. ‘Moody Cage’ dropped not one, not two, but about four separate comments, each long, rambling, and kind of prayer-like messages thanking Rockstar for their hard work and specifically mentioning a release date of… May 26. He says stuff like “I believe you guys can do that and finishing the job so we all have fun with GTA six in the first day of release on May 26.” Where did May 26 come from? Is it a leak? A dream? A random Tuesday he really likes? Nobody knows, but he’s committed to it.

The international crowd showed up too. A user named ‘Giuli’ replied in Spanish, which basically translates to: “The pre-sale for GTA VI? I am not going to get tired of commenting here until it comes out. It would be a good Christmas gift if it came out for the holidays.” The hope seems to be universal. And ‘Aitor VI’ got all cryptic with “The moon has reappeared in your publications, and we are already approaching October.” Is the moon a sign? Is October the month? The community will dissect anything for a clue.

There was even a mini-debate about the police cars themselves. Another user, ‘PS5ProGaming’, replied to someone, “No offense but these are shit and no real police car in America will look like this.” Later, in another thread, he doubled down on his criticism of the vehicles’ appearance and immersive value: “This is horrendous.” So the tweet’s actual topic got some flak, but that was still overshadowed by the GTA 6 chants.

But a few were chaos even. ‘dimetrodon583’ told another user “YOU LOOK LIKE JASON FROM GTA6 🫵😮”. Just a wild accusation to chuck out. And ‘Jason6_VI2026’ went for the biggest reverse psychology attack: “Rockstar if you want delay GTA 6 till November, 2027. I’m OK with that and WE are too 😁”. Yeah, sure you are Jason. Sure you are. We all feel that zen level of patience. Not.

So where was I? Oh, the sale. So yeah, there’s a sale on cop cars in GTA Online. It’s a pretty good deal if you’re into that sort of thing. The Canis Terminus is apparently a solid ride. But this entire tweet and its response thread is the perfect little snapshot of the GTA community right now. Rockstar could tweet a picture of a ham sandwich, and the top reply would be, “IS THIS A HINT ABOUT GTA 6’S PROTAGONIST’S FAVORITE FOOD???” The hype is so real it’s practically a physical force.

Players are just staring at Rockstar’s social media feeds for any crumb of information about the big next thing, making a routine update for a game just the catalyst for mass speculation and begging. A little sad, actually, but mostly… expected at this point. The sale ends on the 24th, but GTA 6 demands? Those end never.
