Rockstar Games has made a huge announcement regarding GTA Online players – Judgement Day is back in Featured Series and along with it, cash prizes have been restored. This mode, where the invincible Riders are shot at all night long only to be replaced at dawn by the Hunted, is definitely going to attract those who want to enlarge their virtual bank accounts.
The players are in for double the GTA$ and RP during Judgement Day until October 15, and the GTA+ members will have an even better package deal of 4 times the rewards. If you are a GTA+ subscriber, then you are practically printing money in this mode right now. The timing couldn’t be more perfect for anyone trying to buy those luxury vehicles or properties they have wished for.
But the reaction from the community has been… mixed, to say the least. Some players are stating that it is the time of grinding and others are cursing Rockstar for not being GTA 6 news playing. Like this one guy @insanityLel who criticized the event as “This ain’t trailer 3” – alluding to the next GT6 trailer that everybody is impatiently waiting for. The thirst for GTA 6 info is still very strong among the players.
There is also @TrueGrindGTA who did the math and called the week “UNHAPPY” despite the double money bonuses, detailing the profit margins so clearly that one would think the calculations were done by an accountant. Apparently, non-GTA+ members do not get the high ground of profit calculations, as they are not there to see it all. Who would have thought that virtual crime could have such complex economics?
Meanwhile, some players are still finding out about the old news like @Ashy_Kneecap who is said to have just watched the GTA 6 trailer and got very thrilled, exclaiming that “this game looks fcking awesome. Holy sht.” Other players expressed things like “Bro has been living under a rock 😂” – the community is always there to point fingers at others.
The comment section turned into a wish list of players who requested and supported Turkish language, Undead Nightmare 2, and a new Midnight Club game among others. To @bobbyblaze_ who asked the studio “We want UNDEAD NIGHTMARE 2 and a new MIDNIGHT CLUB game set in Japan” – he knows exactly what is going to be Rockstars’s next big game idea.
In addition, many comments from Turkish players requesting language support were posted, along with hashtags like #WeWantGTA6inTurkish, while one user @kerimbayramolu8 placed the same comment four times with increasing energy. It surely shows a strong effort, though Rockstar is probably not reading all the comments.
What is very fascinating is that the community is divided between those who still play GTA Online regularly and those who are merely waiting for GTA 6. @996Abdulhakeem voiced the feelings of the latter perfectly, saying, “If it’s not gta 6 then save it nobody cares” – although it is harsh, it is also kind of true for a big part of the player base at the moment.
But, for the ones who still come to grind in Los Santos, this Judgement Day event is a perfect opportunity to increase their virtual wealth. The mode is very much chaotic fun – the Riders are hunting the Hunted right till the dawn, with all the vehicular madness that you would expect from GTA Online. It is one of those modes that truly represents the chaotic nature of what makes GTA Online so addictive.
The period up to October 15th will give players a wonderful chance to enjoy the cash rewards, and with Halloween just around the corner, it is likely that there will be more seasonal content released soon. However, @EnatorLol speculated that this could be “The last Halloween for GTA 5” – which is pretty disturbing since it makes us think how long the game has actually been around.
So, whether you are a player who still plays the game regularly or just checks in once in a while to see what’s new, Judgement Day has some pretty tempting rewards that can help you get back into the trouble. However, don’t think that everyone in the comments will agree – the GTA community is still as split and passionate as it always was. At least the cash bonuses are real, even if the profit calculations are more complex than they first appear.
The community discussion spans across multiple platforms including PlayStation and Xbox networks where players share their experiences.
