Rockstar Games added another community race to GTA Online‘s permanent rotation, spotlighting a circuit called Lakeside View made by Creative Typing Production by Ctp.Championman. And of course, because it is Open Wheel Series, it means go crazy on the tarmac with those slick formula-style cars that share a bit of handling magic depending on your skill: absolute magic or hell. But the cherry on top, any of the featured races this week, including at Lakeside View will pay double rewards. So, if you want to stack GTA$ and RP, now is the opportunity.
The announcement was made the usual way through the Rockstar Games Newswire Twitter account, complete with a link to all details of the event along with a pretty image illustrating the track layout. Looks like Lakeside View is going to be serious with twists and elevation changes to really separate the casual drivers from the leaders. And seriously, this community race series is so much one of the positive additions to GTAO in the past year or so. Giving players the ability to create and share tracks has greatly extended the shelf life of this decade-old game by loads.
The responses to this, as is usual with anything Rockstar tweets that isn’t “GTA VI TRAILER OUT NOW,” ranged from hype, saltiness, to outright chaos. Some people were really hype though. @xetyres posited it as a “great week to grind” and mentioned Payphone Hits and Cayo survival alongside the community series. Smart grind, indeed. However, @OliviaMayx_ outright declared: “No one cares about this, just want GTA 6 info now.” Ouch. Might have a grain of truth, though.
Suddenly there’s this ever-present picture of Rockstar’s comments section: language demands, namely for Turkish. Several users like @Valordia and @Felix1905 began to petition for Turkish localization for GTA VI, one saying: “We want Turkish localization for GTA VI 🥰💛.” Rockstar Support even had to interject and bluntly tell a user demanding Arabic, “Unfortunately, Arabic is not supported.” The whole thing-a global community of players that want to have fun playing the game in their native language, and some are pretty passionate about it.
The other replies went off the beaten path. @0m3gaWolf asked for a boat storage building like the hangar but for, well, boats. And he promised it to be in GTA VI. Not a bad one, honestly. @theguythatskate went full sim-racer mode, begging for better car sounds, wheel support, and improved physics in the next game. Poor guy is not wrong, though; driving a supercar that sounds like a lawnmower is kind of breaking immersion.
Then there’s the legit complaint by @GamingTechUK: “You aren’t testing my open wheel skills you are testing my waiting patience.” GTA Online’s loading times are something else. Then there’s @S3ALES who straight up said, “Yall have milked this cow long enough, don’t you think?” Fair comment. However, based on the current huge numbers that the game really pulls, maybe that cow is still worth milking.
Some creators took the opportunity of this tweet to self-promote; @Matias24Lescano replied in Spanish: “Rockstar, my open wheel career and circuit is better than that one 😎,” and linked to his own creation. Confidence, guys.
And then there is the random Halloween request for skeleton tights by @tsePCrXa3JOHCWU. Because…just because.
So what’s the summary? GTA Online exists, is updated, and quite much a love/hate experience for many players. The hardcore are kept amused by community events like these while the wider audience thirsts for the next big thing. If you are still trapped in the Los Santos grind, then Lakeside View for double rewards might just be worth it. But if you’re done with it… start refreshing Rockstar’s feed for all the GTA VI info. This thing is never going to be short of a lively debate-anything like the races themselves-if you can get through the loading screens.
