RGG Studios has anemically officially stated that the RGG Summit 2025 will be held in a week?? Well, the gaming community is going insane with theories as to what could be announced next. Sources have it that the event would be held on the evening of Tuesday September 23rd at 8 PM PDT time; for anybody coming by air across the ocean, that will be the morning of Wednesday, September 24th at 5 AM CEST- ugly hours for sure. Better set that alarm as this is RGG-the one and only legends who stand behind the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise.
The summit streams will be available and coordinated at SEGA’s YouTube and Twitch channels. The good thing is they’re encouraging re-streams and reactions from the community too, so everyone is invited. Just half an hour after the main show’s end at 9:30 PM PDT (6:30 AM CEST), RGG Direct 2025 kicks in to delve deeply into some of the announcements made on the show. So, in short, you get double info, double hype.
And speaking about actual expectations, comment section under this very tweet is this crazy melting pot of excitement, instant demands, and pure chaos, mostly asking for Yakuza Kiwami 3! It is rampant! User ASIF_117 screamed with impunity, “Kiwami 3 shadow drop let’s go”- obviously would be madness but shockingly awesome. Junior_Lee_11 comes in, “Kiwami 3 inshallah, I beg😆”- desperation is really the real feeling here.
But it is not only about Kiwami treatment for Kiryu’s third adventure. There is a substantial faction that wants Judgment 3. User matthew2215 begged for it, “Please be Judgment 3, just one more is all I ask for 🤲🏻” and dans247124760 practically screams, “Judgement babyyy lessgoo.” Yagami’s story is equally well demands after the quality of Lost Judgment!
Interesting takes now-User Chronorigins states: “Yakuza 4 Kiwami? (Nobody cares about 3)”- probably a harsh perspective that would have a lot of community members throw side-eyes. Meanwhile fortmadeofbrass states, “We are there for VF not another asset flip yakuza” -apparently somebody wants news on Virtua Fighter instead of more Yakuza. Then, somehow, Gabriel25524754 derails this into Sonic-lack-of-news-goes-here land with, “So we get an RGG summit and a Direct but not a Sonic Central? Are you for real?” Boy, this is an RGG event, not Sonic event; real confusion here.
Some find the timing painful. Muchi123 sums it up: “5AM CEST is absolutely brutal but I will be there I guess!! 😭”; MaddTronik seems to agree by adding; “5:30am… greeeeaattt thanks rgg”- sarcasm dripping from the words. But true-fan culture knows that waking up at ungodly hours is part of the gaming lifestyle when something major is unfolding in the industry.
Some users are thinking even bigger. For iJezabella said, “PS5 versions of 0 and Kiwami… with announcements of Judgment 3 or Kiwami 3 PS5/XBOX Series/PC exclusive.” That would be big actually-well deserved, current-gen versions of those classic incarnations, and thegirllovemcu is already looking forward to “GIVE LIKE A DRAGON 9” – like, whoa, we haven’t even gone through the Summit yet, and people are already asking for the next mainline entry.
The whole subject is utterly becoming more and more animated. User Strider_117 responded with a statement: “We’re ready!” accompanied by a hype GIF, and Sooryan_86 replied confidently: “Yep it’s K3 time,” with an equally exciting image. It legitimately feels like really-bad-ass-shit is about to hit the fan. Be it Kiwami 3, Judgment 3, or something totally unexpected, that whole RGG fanbase is now losing their minds.
And about appreciation comments? Some of those include the likes of 12bKaz saying, “Best studio ever right here” – really, though. RGG Studio has been knocking it out of the park for years now. The awe-inspiring combination of crime drama and ridiculousness has propelled it into one of the most fiercely loyal communities in the business.
Which is one week, which in some cases is never-ending, when you are watching for possible game announcements. The good side, however, is that hardly another week will pass before we will know whether RGG’s greatness has come back or if it is keeping the game expectations at a lofty-high. All you need to know is that whoever is on Kiwami 3’s side, Judgment 3’s side, or somewhere halfway in between, mark calendars, set alarms, and get ready.
RGG events have so far stood out for giving you things you never really thought you needed. Remember when they dropped Like a Dragon: Ishin out of nowhere? Or Judgment itself? They have a keen way of satisfying you with unexpected gems in between anticipated titles. So while they’re all dishing about Kiwami here, and Judgment there, they probably have a completely new title up their sleeves.
The hype has passed the station and has begun its fast journey. It’s time to gear up for September 23rd/24th as the RGG Summit 2025 becomes the most anticipated gaming event of the autumn season. This isn’t all, though! There’s an entire Direct that follows for a deep dive into all things that come out of it. Ain’t gonna be half-bad.
