The remake of Resident Evil 2 was a huge commercial success for Capcom. Fans loved the new visuals and fine-tuned mechanics. There’s just something so special about revisiting Raccoon City and navigating the police station as Leon and Claire. Capcom really innovated the series in a way that sets it up for so many amazing possibilities. Capcom is planning to take this momentum into Resident Evil 3 Remake, which is scheduled to release on April 3. That’s not that long now and you can just feel the suspense and buzz building.
Already, this remake has so many things going for it. The screenshots have looked absolutely stunning. Never before have players been able to make their way through a zombie-infested Raccoon City like this. There seems like so many interesting areas to explore. The entire time you’ll be on full alert for Project Nemesis. Early visuals and notes are depicting quote the formidable opponent for Jill Valentine.
It’s worth mentioning that there will be a pretty distinct difference in gameplay compared to what was featured in Resident Evil 2 Remake. More specifically, this upcoming project is looking to be oriented more around action. Whereas Resident Evil 2 Remake was more of a slow-paced survival-horror experience.
It’s not like Capcom needed to switch things up. The slower-paced design further immerses you and makes you take everything in. However, it seems like Capcom wanted to give Resident Evil 3 Remake a unique identify. Now, there are more zombies in the streets that will foster more frequent action scenarios. On paper, this makes a lot of sense.
This game being more action-oriented can also be attributed to Project Nemesis. He’ll be stalking you the entire game, much like the Tyrant in the previous remake. Only, Project Nemesis is much stronger and fully equipped with an arsenal to take down a small army. It’s only right that there will be more action-packed scenarios as you figure out a way to escape Project Nemesis with your life.
Additionally, those who’ve already gotten a hands-on experience with Resident Evil 3 Remake via a demo have confirmed more action this time around. That seems like a good thing, too. Now, you won’t have many seconds to breathe. You’ll be on high-alert throughout the game’s main story and that should make for an epic experience. It will be interesting to see what die-hards feel about the pace, but one thing’s for sure: this game is showing a lot of promise.
