Pokémon Sword and Shield are the next big titles coming to the Nintendo Switch in November. That doesn’t mean the other Pokémon titles on the Switch has been forgotten. Pokémon recently announced an easy way to obtain one of the strongest Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

Mewtwo is a Legendary Pokémon and one of the most difficult to obtain in-game. While some gamers may have given up on ever getting the Pokémon, the company recently announced an alternative to the current in-game only method.

On the official Pokémon website, the company outlines the exact steps required to obtain a free Mewtwo.

Gamers must first download the free Pokémon Pass app available on iPhone or Android devices. From there, players can head to any Best Buy location and use the Pokémon Pass app. There, they are given a code that can be redeemed in either Pokémon: Let’s Go! game.

To redeem the code in-game, the Nintendo Switch has to be connected to the internet to use the “Get with Code” option with Mystery Gifts.

Mewtwo will arrive in the player’s party or the Pokémon box. The Pokémon will be at level 70 and come with the moves Amnesia, Psychic, Teleport, and Recover.

Mewtwo can be obtained in the game but will take a little more work. First, the player will have to defeat the Elite Four and the game. The Rival tells the protagonist about a cave near Cerulean City that may hold something special.

The cave isn’t challenging to navigate. The player simply has to navigate to the end where there’s a room filled with ladders. Using Sea Skim near the water will lead to Mewtwo.

The battle won’t be easy. Mewtwo is level 70, so gamers will have to ensure they have a strong team ready. The battle has a time limit of five minutes to make things more stressful. For the best chance to capture the Legendary Pokémon, use the Master Ball.

Pokémon Company may have wanted to give gamers an easier way to obtain the Legendary creature instead of spending time leveling up a team of Pokémon. Now, if players want a Mewtwo, there is a much easier method to obtain one.
