Halo 3: ODST will arrive on September 22nd as part of the remastered MCC collection on PC, the latest Halo game to be ported to PC as part of an ongoing effort to bring more of the games to the platform.

The game will be available on Steam and will completely be remastered for PC, with new graphics for the storyline and a freshly updated version of ODST’s Firefight mode. ODST’s remaster is also announced on the 10th Anniversary of Halo: Reach.

Here’s the post on Steam:

Halo 3: ODST comes to PC as the next installment in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Experience the events preceding Halo 3 through the eyes of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) as they return to familiar ground and attempt to uncover the motivations behind the Covenant’s invasion of New Mombasa.

This is the fifth title to be added to the Master Chief Collection alongside the original Halo 3, the first Halo game, and Halo Reach. ODST will feature upgraded visuals (with 4k and up to 60 FPS+ on decent systems.)  If you already own the full MCC you will be able to play the game on the day of its release.

Other native PC support has been added to ODST ahead of its release, such as support for keyboard and mouse (with customizable controls), as well as sliding FOV options, and support for a variety of systems and cards.

The Firefight game mode – ODST’s co-op multiplayer mode – is supported on the brand new MCC servers via Steam on PC. You can also play the game through the Xbox Game Pass for PC and console. ODST is already available to play Xbox One, but Firefight will go live on September 22nd.

It’s expected that the MCC season will refresh with the launch of Halo 3: ODST on the 22nd, so get those challenges done ahead of time. There will also be new challenges introduced with the launch of the new title.

With the release of ODST, there is only one more game until the Master Chief Collection is complete, a feat that has been completed in quite stunning time by the team. The PC ports have faced their share of problems, but continuous patch updates have kept the experience fresh and running well on PC.
