October 2025 is a tsunami for gamers, with a gargantuan amount of games dropping almost daily. Seriously-Who approved this? The gaming insider Shino602 has just dropped the full list of October releases…and it is quite the long list. Ghost of Yotei, Battlefield 6, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Ninja Gaiden 4, The Outer Worlds 2, and about twenty-five other titles are all jockeying for time in a single month. Wallet is crying dry just by seeing this list, and the launch is more than a year away.
So, what exactly are we getting? Let’s try and analyze this insane month. October kicks off on the 2nd with Ghost of Yotei, which everybody assumes to be the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, and double packing Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. October 3rd sees the launch of Digimon Story: Time Stranger, October 9th is for Yooka-Replaylee and Bye Sweet Carole, while the 10th has a triple launch of Battlefield 6, Little Nightmares 3, and Ys Vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga. And that is only for the first 10 days? This cannot be real.
14th comes with Just Dance 2026, Pokemon Legends: Z-A on the 16th, and Keeper on the 17th. Another huge day is October 21 with Painkiller, Ninja Gaiden 4, Jurassic World Evolution 3, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 all launching at the same time. As in, who plans this stuff?? Do they want us to be broke?? Dispatch launches on the 22nd, Double Dragon Revive on the 23rd, Once Upon a Katamari on the 24th, and then the final week is capped by The Outer Worlds 2 on the 29th, followed by Arc Raiders, Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, and Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake on October 30th. Mina the Hollower and Tales of Xillia Remastered are the bandleaders of the month, standing on Halloween.
Down below are what should be an array of differing player reactions in the replies. People are super hyped for some of the titles. User mossy98_ commented, “You forgot Blue Protocol Star Resonance I’m personally playing that, and Pokemon Legends Z-A I’m still on the fence for Battlefield.” Hence the whole debate on what’s worth the money already. Meanwhile, Rawa “DaDa” Meriwani kept it short: “I only care about DQ1-2, And potentially Digimon Story And tales of xillia on a very steep discount.” Smart guy for waiting for sales.
Some games are really hyped: DanGiuCa yelled “10/10 BATTLEFIELD 6🥳🥳🥳”, mood. RGinther95 said, “Battlefield 6 is preordered but, the rest is waiting for a discount. Digimon and Ghost look great”, that whole picking one big day-one purchase and waiting on others strategy. And B93Shane perhaps being the most bold by saying, “Yotei, Yooka, Battlefield 6, Little Nightmares 3, Pokémon, Double Dragon, Dragon Quest, Mina!” Bro, do you even sleep??
But some people just aren’t sold on the whole thing. Zrksys_24 just goes hard, “Nobody is playing digimon,” which, okay then. Meanwhile, Rinwell is like, “Tbh none of these, maybe I will come back to the Xillia but we will see. I will rather just play more Hades 2,” which is a whole mood – sometimes you’re just too deep in another game to care about new releases. HumanityListens keeps it real, though: “Still trying to complete the September games” [crying emoji]. We feel you, man. Really do.
The platform talk got spicy moments too. AntonioTheGamer broke down his planned purchases by system: “Pokemon Z-A: Switch 2, Battlefield 6: Ps5, Ninja Gaiden 4: Xbox (via gamepass), The Outer World 2: Xbox (Via Gamepass).” That really highlights how subscription services like Game Pass are changing how people approach these massive release months. Then KosalamaKita noted the Xbox flex: “Xbox with the 3 1st party games in one month, that’s some FLEXING” which, yeah, that’s a strong showing for The Outer Worlds 2, Arc Raiders, and presumably one other.
Some players already suffering: Tru_Breezy wrote, “Lord I just don’t know. I cannot malice up my mind between Digimon, tactics, or Trails in the sky. (gonna want yotei but will play it too)” and in another reply, “Omg I forgot about Pokémon. Great problem to have except for my wallet.” That is October 2025 in a nutshell- way too many good options and way too little cash.
Meanwhile, corey_lineberry has already decided: “Time Stranger, and Time Stranger only.” Dedication. TheHellMotel has spoken for “Bye Sweet Carole! And maybe Bloodlines 2”. Meanwhile, Pedro Brazon is more interested in the underdogs: “Surprisingly little out of those. Ninja Gaiden 4 and maybe VTM:B 2 plus Dispatch because i loved Tales of the Borderlands/The Wolf Among Us.”
Then there are oddballs like KithOmoro just saying “GTA V 🙂” cause some never leave Los Santos. And JackalMoonshine anxiously awaits a game called “Absolum,” which wasn’t even on the list, with “That demo was hot FIRE.” Chaos, yes. Beautiful chaos, indeed.
All in all, this is a complete situation that is basically the perfect storm of gaming in October 2025. The big AAA nods coming from Battlefield 6 and The Outer Worlds 2 with beloved franchise revivals like Ninja Gaiden 4 and Double Dragon Revive, long-awaited follow-ups like Ghost of Yotei, and a ton of fun little indie games like Mina the Hollower and Bye Sweet Carole. Literally, a month that has something for everyone but hard for any player to make time or money for. The online conversation shows people having to make hard choices, prioritize, and, in some cases, give up in anticipation of sales. It’s going to be a wild wild ride, and we can’t wait for it all. Just maybe start saving now, okay?
