New York Comic Con has recently revealed its grand-panel announcements for 2025, and let me tell you—this line-up shall be downright insane for Marvel, DC, horror, and pop culture enthusiasts alike. This is a LIST THAT CHOKES ONE. Hence, the place is commando-tented for days at the Javits Center, with everything from Agents of SHIELD reunions to X-men nostalgic bombs.
Marvel even takes it one step harder by not giving you just one panel but many. First up, we have the Marvel Animation/Marvel Television showcase (oh, could we please get some Daredevil or Punisher teases?), followed very often by the Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing panel, usually heralding hordes of new comic runs or bittersweet announcements. This one holds a special place for tears: the agents of SHIELD cast reunion. Yes, a cast reunion, indeed. The replies to the announcement Tweet were just flood after flood of crying emojis and all-caps handbags. User @KinoMystbleidd put it succinctly: “AoS cast reunion 😭😭😭.” Then, @norman_osbourne said that “my heart skipped a beat” at the thought that the show might be coming back.
Speaking of reunions: The original casts of X-Men: Days of Future Past will be returning, with McAvoy, Hoult, and Page on the panel, I can’t imagine how long after that movie went down. Those nostalgic vibes are going to hit HARD.
DC needs to keep pace with this one, too. The Bat-Fam panel continues to get rumors going about new Batman-related projects (Gotham Knights series, believe or not?), followed by DC K.O.: What’s Next, which will no doubt drop some surprises, at least in the eyes of some. However, not everyone was pleased, with @thanksbutton lamenting the lack of Supergirl or Lanterns news, calling it a “bummer.”
It’s going to be a treat for the horror folks, featuring a glimpse at the Blumhouse slate of forthcoming projects and the very first look at It: Welcome to Derry, the prequel series shrouded in secrecy. If vampires tantalize your fancy, then Talamasca/The Vampire Lestat will be just the thing.
Animation needs to be on there as well. Highlights for Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake Season 2 and a confirmed panel for Invincible Season 4 (and if Season 3 is anything to go by, we’re in for some wild teases).
The parade of questions has already begun. Like, @Winston__G just going ahead and replying, “Why is the list this long?” And, honestly? Fair. Though selecting things to attend at NYCC 2025 may almost intimidate you with all this content.
The event will take place from October 9-12 at the Javits Center, with some of the panels (like the big Marvel ones) set for Saturday, October 11. I am guessing tickets are going to be harder to get than rare comic books, so if you want in on this, I’d say start refreshing the page now.
And to all those asking about trailers and footage—oh, yes. @JultomtensNisse gushed that Marvel has got to drop trailers for Wonder Man, Daredevil, maybe even Young Fresh New Hero Spider-Man (All kidding aside, that’s a stretch, but let me dream).
And on that note, the 2025 NYCC appears likely to be the biggest yet. Whether for the hype Marvel is going to bring, DC surprises, or just to see those actors reunite—that is the big spot. Any extras?
