The specifications of the upcoming Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card appeared to have been finally confirmed.
Various leaks of the product’s specs have already made their way to different tech sites. However, these are expected to be validated only when the newest addition to the GeForce series is out. This seemed to be not the case.
Earlier this week, a Chinese retail shop’s website has been found sharing the full details of the Nvidia-manufactured product. No one could have noticed the post, if not for a hardware leaker.
Twitter user 188 (@momomo_us) was quick to spot the supposed Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super specs. Based on what was shared, the upcoming one could be an upgrade of GeForce GTX 1660. It could be noted, though, that there are still some similarities between the two.
Among the reported features to be retained are the clock speed and thermal design power or TDP. The unit is anticipated to be clocked at 1,530 MHz, which could reach a maximum of 1,785 MHz. The GTX 1660’s 1,408 CUDA cores would be maintained as well.
In the meantime, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super GPU is anticipated to be faster than its predecessor. This could be attributed to the enhancements it comes with. The forthcoming graphics card would feature 48 raster operation units, coupled with 80 texture mapping units.
On top of these interesting specs would be its memory. Accordingly, it would stand tall because of its 6 GB GDDR6. With this feature, the unit could achieve a bandwidth of 36 GB/s. This is possible with the help of 14 Gbps die and a 192-bit bus interface.
Before its launch, Nvidia fans may get interested to know about its results in the 3D Mark Fire Strike Extreme benchmark. This was a comparison between the Super version and the other GeForce graphics card variants.
Using only the stock clocks, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super GPU was able to hit a score of 6578. In terms of speed, the unit has proven that it is around six to seven percent faster compared to the earlier models in the GeForce series.
It can be recalled that the Santa Clara, California-based tech company introduced the GeForce 16 series in February this year. This is the lineup of products seen to compete directly with AMD’s Radeon series.
The Nvidia GeForce 16 GPU line is anchored on Turing microarchitecture, which integrates specialized specs. These include the CUDA cores, ray-tracing cores, and tensor or AI cores.
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card has a rumored release date of October 29.
