An exhilarating surge has engulfed the community after Fortnite guardian Ninja declared that his brand-new Skin would be dropped and eventually bestowed upon him by Epic Games as the BLITZ LORD. The announcement was greeted by a hype trailer teasing some Mythic weapons, and the players have started losing their minds.

The reveal tweet displayed the iconic Ninja redesigned sleek in black and gold, with a mixture of excitement, skepticism, and madness. Some are calling this a “MASSIVE W,” while others roast it as “piece of shit trash.” Classic Fortnite Twitter!

The real hype is suggested by the Mythics tease. Ninja started off with a quick showing of some still-unreleased and mysterious Mythic weapons about to be inserted into the game, but the information is still scant. If they’ve been such a disruption in the meta in past seasons (Infinity Blade, anyone?), this will certainly be a huge shake-up for the meta.

The Blitz Lord title is just one of many unpredictable factors. For those who aren’t in the know, Blitz is a fast-paced Limited Time Mode that really amps up Battle Royale by having super fast storms and really good loot. Ninja’s new title could suggest that he might have some influence in the development of the mode itself or at least some exclusive content related to it-either way, sly bragging; it’s not like Epic is handing out such a title to anyone.

Reactions from the community run the gamut from ecstatic to wholly silence. Some are behind it all, like @Fearless753, who happens to think this skin is “clean” and congratulates Ninja on the collab. Others, like @Not_AIIan, though, really aren’t impressed and literally roast the design with everything they have. Then we have old regular @GreatWhite85, with some random references almost coherently stitched to contrast old Ninja rants about football takes. Wouldn’t want gaming Twitter changing for once.

The big question right now has been, is this a new skin or just an edit style of Ninja? It does sound a little bit like a variation (or an edit style) by the wording, but unless it is in the store, it will never be for sure. Either way, this is a fresh look for one of the most recognizable streamer skins in Fortnite.

And that’s only if we choose to ignore the Mythics tease, which we can’t. With Ninja backing these new toys being brought into the game, you just know that it’s going to get crazy. Previous Mythics have ranged from ridiculously fun to annoyingly broken, so here’s hoping for the more fun end of the spectrum this time. The video was rather scarce in showing anything concrete, but dataminers are probably already digging through the files.

Of course, some weren’t really feeling it. Some players, like @PsychedelicBakd, saw Ninja as washed for focusing on Blitz instead of classic Battle Royale. Others, like @MusicIssues, simply pointed out that it took Ninja a long time to get this one compared to the other streamers. Fair points, though. Better late than never, right?

At the very least, this is a far cry for Ninja and Fortnite. The skins will sell like hot cakes; the Mythics will probably ruin the game for a week, and Blitz just might be turned into another sweaty mode. Whatever you feel about it, you will surely be seeing a lot of Black & Gold Ninjas in your lobbies, soon.

Stock up with a few V-Bucks, pray the Mythics aren’t too busted, and either flex that new style or tire out from seeing it everywhere. It’s Fortnite, baby!
