Apex Legends Season 8 – called “Mayhem” – starts on February 2nd. This season introduces a new Australian legend, Fuse, a new weapon, the 30-30 Repeater, and a destroyed King’s Canyon. Yep. That’s right. King’s Canyon has been wrecked again.

The new legend, Fuse, received his Stories from the Outlands teaser trailer yesterday. His arm gets blown off and he isn’t even bothered, just strolling away like he’d stubbed his toe. Take a look below:

Fuse is Australian, and he loves explosives. That’s about all the community knows as 100% fact about the new legend yet, although there are plenty of rumors already circulating about his skillset. Expect some sort of Fire Bomb ability and a potential resistance-to-explosives passive.

Either way, he doesn’t seem like the sort of legend that has serious flexibility with his movement, so don’t expect him to be as powerful as Horizon, the last new legend introduced to the Apex arena. He might introduce some interesting mechanics, though.

Next up, the new weapon. This 30-30 Repeater is a bolt-action rifle, and leakers suggest it’s a heavy ammo weapon. This looks like it might be the heavy-ammo equivalent of the G7 Scout. A repeater fires fast.

This is also one of the weapons that didn’t make an appearance in the Titanfall games, so there isn’t actually any previous examples to look at. The 30-30 Repeater is a brand new weapon for Apex Legends.

Two weapons haven’t been introduced in back-to-back seasons for a long time. The perfect way to celebrate the two-year anniversary of Apex Legends this February, which should also be celebrated with a new event arriving with the start of Season 8.

And King’s Canyon. Our poor King’s Canyon. Destroyed time and time again with the introduction of new legends, it seems like Fuse will also leave his mark on the original Apex playground.

Simply titled “Obliterated King’s Canyon” the map will likely go through some pretty big changes, just like Loba causing the destruction of King’s Canyon, or Crypto and the Leviathans stomping around the map.

Lastly, just a little more information on that Season 8 event. Multiple leakers have confirmed there is an anniversary event planned for the two-year release date. Expect plenty of exclusive recolors of old Battlepass skins, including weapons and legend skins.
