Somebody dropped a tweet that isn’t directly telling you anything, and the whole gaming side of Twitter is seriously going crazy over it-the post itself reads: “this game is more about the (bloody) parts we can’t show you than the parts that we can.” And honestly?? Vague-but-hype statement like that could really send the sprouting bougainvilleas overboard, wouldn’t it?

There’s no title stamped upon it, no studio name-all the user gets to see is a link to some unlisted media-and along with all that comes the insinuation that it’s probably too brutal for public eyes. Standard marketing practice-to hold mystery before them and let them fill in the blanks with their nightmares.

Naturally, the crazy theories are now flying about all over the replies-say, is it referring to some Mortal Kombat fighter? Some next-gen horror thing that will Softie Resident Evil for the kiddies? Or maybe…..maybe its that long-awaited Silent Hill rehash finally scratching its way out of the foggy grave? (Konami, we see you lurking.)

Possibly more exciting is this phrase, though: “Parts we CAN’T show you”. This is censorship hurdles–possibly not just an M rating but also some negotiations with the platforms about what can be acceptably shown; or maybe it is far worse: graphic beyond belief and streaming it would just get demonetized instead. (Twitch moderation team shivered a little.)

And let us not forget about that parentheses around “(bloody),” which is so parenthetical as to convey “not so,” but which actually was the main character here-just in case you thought it was not. They want you to know it is not just violence. It is artistic violence. Just the kind that leaves stains.

Well, so far all there is speculation and all the delicious pre-announcement tension. But one thing is for sure: when devs start saying how “unshowable” their content is…………………………………that is not an exaggeration. (Here we are, with Cyberpunk 2077’s “cutting-edge adult scenes” that did exist…um, right.)

So-Gamble! A brand new IP? Or some sequel? Could be, just one very, very elaborate tease? Whichever, the hype train’s already left the station and is running with no brakes. Choo choo, motherf—n’-
