We had that spicy summer vibe being given by Monster Hunter under the Festival of Accord: Flamefete update, and people are, well, let’s just say, split four ways. The official Monster Hunter account tweeted Alma, Erik, and Gemma in fresh summer looks, but the replies… oh boy… they despinned faster than a Rajang on a caffeine rush.
Let’s start on the brighter side: the players are loving the new drip. Gemma’s outfit, apparently, put people into insane simp-mode, one player, @HarenSynt, jokingly lamented not being able to hunt since he’d be spending all his time just staring at her; @Squeaky_Artz called Alma a “sassy aunt,” which is just barely tolerable; then, @jacobmjudge said he wanted to “blow raspberries on Erik’s stomach between Uth Duna fights,” which is… an interesting expression.
The rest, however, seem not to enjoy so much of those good vibes. The tensions, oh no, went cold very fast. One user, @jrnewty, went off on a strange rant about pronouns, calling the NPCs “ugly and gay/trans” and demanded the devs be fired. This, of course, swept away the Twitter-clown atmosphere in which many other players came out clapping. @TheCupidKid clapped back with: “Tell me what’s it like waking up dry and joyless every day of your life,” which was… a burn.
Other accounts stayed grounded while engaging in conversations about… real game problems. @KitRamune asked if the Grand Hub was still broken (Yep, it is), while @monadospeed asked very blandly if the PC version was “still dookie” (also yes), and @BlacOnBothSides begged for Insect Glaive support by suggesting a solar corn-on-the-cob weapon (Capcom, please).
Here come the horny comments. @BobDole1830661 admitted to just keeping the ladies “naked,” while @GeraltofGoonia posted the meme sarcastically wondering, “What the hell is even that?” a response to Erik’s outfit. Classic.
So, yeah, Flamefete brought us summer fashion but also the drama worthy of a reality show. The outfits are delicious; the discussion is insane, and the game still has bugs. Just another day in the life of the Monster Hunter fandom.
As for when Capcom will really start fixing the game? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But until then, Gemma in a swimsuit is a good buy-out. Priorities, right?
