Monster Hunter soners, cheer! The devs dropped some spicy news: Arch-Tempered Uth Duna and Rey Dau are now permanent quests. No FOMO. No sweat about finishing them before they’re gone into that event quest abyss. And Capcom is actually thinking about making future Arch-Tempered monster quests permanent as well. You heard that right. Permanent. No expiry dates. Just clean, unfiltered loss of sanity with some monster bash whenever you want.
And what about the community’s reaction? Well, let’s just say the vibing is… mixed. Some bros of the huntor are hyped about it, other hunters are asking for more content, while some others are already making draconian possibilities (yes, Nu Udra, I’m looking at you).
Let’s get to the fights. Big Tuna, aka Uth Duna, is supposedly somewhat easy but still packs a punch. On the other hand, Rey Dau? This flying railgun of a monster really is a good fight-the players’ view, and then they said, “Oh, it’s a cruel fight.” One player even described something like, “hard to tell if he makes that move to shock the ground next to it and fly up and shock you again with bigger attack.” Yikes. Sounds like carting someone’s near future.
Then we have the A-rank-troubles. Several players talked about how tough it is to lock A-rank against Uth Duna. One even said, “I finally got it!” after we can safely assume she made many failed attempts. Congratulations, Weissnier, you have bragging rights.
But that was not the bigger picture or everything. Some players, like MaiyagyGery, rated the game as “dry” and “boring” intermittently, keeping hope for the expansion. DuaneM07, however, retaliated with a reality check: “The game has enough content for what you pay. It’s not designed for you to no-life it every day.” Good one, but try to tell that to a guy who has already gone through literally every single content.
And then real chaos begins with the requests. One play asks for Diablos and Monoblos to return (great choices). Another one is dreaming of a Monster Hunter x One Piece crossover to fight a Seaking (???). Tacola? They are begging for Frontier monsters in Wilds and Stories 3. Capcom, are you there?
One of the biggest takeaways is as follows: Players love the idea of Arch-Tempered monsters stuck around, but some want them to feel more biologic-just like a random spawn instead of a fixed quest. “Make them pop up randomly instead of event quests! It makes the game feel more alive,” etherlshade said. Honestly? I like that idea. Imagine just wandering around and BAM—surprise Arch-Tempered monster. Heart attack material, but fun heart attack material.
Oh, and let’s not forget about the madman who proposed making Uth Duna and Rey Dau a duo quest. Edawg, you monster. Who hurt you?
So, what’s next? Well, Master Rank is coming along with Rarity 9, 10, 11, and 12 gear. Elder Dragons shall soon become the issue and the players are literally loosing it in hype. Clyde Black hit it off with: “Elder fkn dragons!!!!! Come on!!!!”
In the end, whether you’re struggling with A-ranks, begging for more content, or chillin’ about the permanent quests, one thing is for sure: Monster Hunter is far from over. And if Capcom stays true to listening to the community, the future will be very wild. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a date with one angry tuna. Wish me luck.
