Capcom just dropped another bombshell on Monster Hunter Wilds fans: voting for the #MHWilds Design Contest is now open! Voters will now be choosing their favorite fan-created weapons and pendants to have the winning design featured in the Forbidden Lands of Monster Hunter Wilds. Also, I must say voters get cool social icons as a small sign of appreciation. Pretty sweet, eh?
That, of course, brought the gaming crowd with opinions. Some were happy, some were salty, and some just couldn’t make sense of it. Like, why only one weapon per category? Why not a bow? What about all the sword and shield mains? The replies really set the mood.
One player, @Iq_damn, very simply put, “Why only one? I want one for each weapon type.” @loot_doctor lamented, “No bow….. sadness overtakes me,” while @MH_Ravus wondered, “I don’t see any sword and shield, why is that?” Legit.
Others just completely dropped their Capcom loyalties. “@anonisme1 Aiee i forgot my capcom id 😭,” and many of us just said, same. We’ve all had that moment.
Now, taking the designs into review. Or some are already choosing. “@nord_exe: Edge of Oblivion > ALL,” while @BloodyMiquella went bonkers for “Weapon R my goat.” And we got @frostfang24 who can only speak through Charge Blade life and said, “Love these two. I need this charge blade.”
Some weren’t feeling the love. @dprmido was going for the conspiracy theory: “No way there’s so many ugly ones in the finalists. This is rigged, no waaay y’all have such bad taste damn.” Damning.
@FeroxChrysalism then went on to celebrate theah shredder Horn: “Honestly surprised that 1/4 of the weapons showcased were Hunting Horns. Flattered for my main getting love.” Then he asked the important question: “…now where’s my Gog-Damned Wiggler helm?” Priorities.
Now let’s not forget the ones that entered with some honor. “@boneboxy: Was fun participating in the contest. Sadly I think I know why my design was not chosen, but oh well.” @StormriderArt got some backing from @DeontaJaylan, who said, “I hope it wins.” Now that’s team spirit!
So what now? Picking has started, and the winning designs will enchant the world of Monster Hunter Wilds. Is it gonna be a Great Sword takeover? Or maybe Charge Blade all the way? Maybe one of those few Hunting Horn players will do the right thing? Either way, the drama is thick, and we are enjoying it.
So if you want to cast your vote (and get a free social icon), head over to the link in the Capcom tweet. This time, do not forget your Capcom ID!
