Minecraft is planning a new DLC to accompany the upcoming Minecraft Movie, and what a hype there is already?! Or is it free elytra races, survival challenges, and sneaking into woodlands to explore the mansion-the atmosphere surrounding the blocky blockbuster tie-in is buzzing with excitement these days? So let’s dig in.
So Mojang really threw this new DLC into the game, huh? New Minecraft Movie, which is going to the theaters on April 4, I mean. Free DLC though! Now that’s some true hype.
As per the tweet–“Winner winner, chicken dinner! Adventure deeper into A Minecraft Movie through the free A Minecraft Movie DLC”. I’m not going to lie, that chicken dinner reference is sus. PUBG crossover or just straight-hungry? LOL. The tweet also goes on to tell us about elytra races and “sneak into a woodland mansion.” Honestly, sounds lit.
DreamyMoonGlow just straight-up drops a flint and steel pic; savage move. Are they trying to light up the movie before its release? Or just have some good old fun setting fires in-game? Who knows, these gamers are a bit wild.
Then @itsperco is out here saying, “Bruhh that’s wack I thought this DLC was for only people who went to the IRL locations of the nether portal”: Um chill, my dude! It’s FREE DLC! Why gate the block game?
And emma 🍉 wants downloadable versions of live events?! Okay, that’s actually a pretty good idea? Mojang, are you listening? We need replayable live events!
oli is basically like “THIS IS SO HYPE”, and honestly, I can feel that. Free stuff is always hype.
Then we got Steve himself, @MeincraftSteve, dropping a Studio Ghibli Steve pic. Is Steve becoming anime?? What is going on. This timeline is getting weirder by the second. Wait what was I saying?
Justin Nixon is all “I wonder if Minecraft is going poor.” Dude, they’re Minecraft. They are probably swimming in emeralds. Chill, dude.
F4RL1N🇩🇴 screams “PUBG REFERENCE 🗣️🔥” at the line about the chicken dinner. Okay, maybe this PUBG thing DOES hold. Are they bringing us a Minecraft battleground?
zie marked April 4 on their calendar. Now that a dedicated crew is going to watch the movie and grind all night on DLC. Respect the hustle, amirite?
Finally, Lovemilke2 goes on to call for free Minecraft. “Minecraft you owe me free minecraft frfrr” was her exact phrasing. Bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off. I mean, it doesn’t hurt to ask, I guess?
If anything, the reception to this seems preetty darn good. Always a win on the free DLC side, and the Minecraft community is open to enjoy full movie fever with this tie-in. Will it be a critical hit? Only time will tell. But till then, grab that DLC, go watch the movie, and maybe order some chicken dinner? Just saying…
