Fortnite has come out with another amazing emote and this time it is from Master Peace. The song used is called “Start You Up” and it has already made the gamer community fight over it. Some are loving it while others are hating it. The truth is that the feelings about this are very different. When is there ever a time when the game does not introduce more music?
It was through a short tweet, “MASTER PEACE x FORTNITE – ‘Start You Up'” that had a link to the emote’s purchase, that the official announcement was made. There was nothing very impressive about it, just like most of the Fortnite reveals it was simply to the point. But the replies… oh my Gosh, they are telling a completely different story.
Gamers like @Undead_Clown92 have been “a massive fan of master peace for quite a while” and thinks this collab is straight fire with all those flame emojis. On the other hand, @kenneth30607848 who has been listening to Master Peace “FOR AGES” and called the Fortnite appearance “SO RANDOM” in uppercase because when you are excited you have to shout it sometimes, right?
But not everyone thinks the same way. @RWBY_Dashie bemoaned for quite a while about how “pathetic kids” listen to this genre and how we all should go back to the “best era of music” from the 80s and 90s until 2018. Wow! This is a very strong opinion! Maybe they woke up on the wrong side of the Battle Bus? This led to a whole thread with @JinxViPowder69 agreeing that music has been “meh” since around 2014 but still recognizing that the older eras were “goated” even if they are not their personal favorite.
The quality debate is also happening. @inhun_DeadDove brazenly called it “So bad” and said that maps are the only thing good so whatever that means. On the other hand, @assessivebands supported it saying “I actually fw this one, good song and it’s not a janky ass dance” which… honestly, fair point. Let’s be real, some of those Fortnite dances can be really janky.
At the same time, @ToddGakk7 had the most unexpected contribution saying that the song “makes me want to redip a chip at a party” and honestly? That’s a mood. Absolute mood. Who has not been at a party where you just redip that chip while some good songs are playing in the background?
And there is always that one person in the chat asking about things that are completely different from the main theme – @zackinii popping in with “When’s Star Wars coming out” like dude we are talking about Master Peace and not lightsabers. However, to speak of the latter,@godzilla_might is pleading Fortnite for Queen to be added which… actually that would be great. Unlike that, I’m not going to lie, it would be pretty dope.
The entire issue pretty much shows how divided the community is regarding the acceptance of new content. There will always be many people cursing the new stuff simply because it is new and others will lay a welcome mat for the new elements of the game and the existence of the two groups will make it fun. @ultrazen118 beautifully put it when he said “Why are people hating on this one, it’s not even bad” and @PineapplePinez as a supporter of the toughest reality simply stated “They hate everything”.
Besides the music issue, the usual Fortnite problems were also coming up in the replies. @certified_santy asking if the servers are down (a classic), @Ronfromnyc having voice chat issues between Xbox and PlayStation (also a classic), @strong93282 guessing about some next chapter in maps as when is the community NOT guessing about the next content?
In the end, whether you love it or hate it, Master Peace’s “Start You Up” is now part of Fortnite emote’s rotation. It is a new example of Epic Games never stopping the game transformation through new content and collaborations. Some will use it all the time, some will never even look at it, and some will just be there redipping chips to the beat. The cycle is still on, the item shop updates, and Fortnite remains that game which always has something new to talk about even while we are arguing whether the new emote is a banger or not.
So, If you are a fortniter and want to know, the emote is now available through the link in the original tweet. Listen to it, know where you stand in the Master Peace argument and who knows you might even find your new favorite emote to use after a Victory Royale in this popular battle royale.
