Massive Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Deep Dive Trailer Releases Just A Few Weeks Before The Game Drops

The November release for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is coming, and Ubisoft really really wants you to play this game.

The developer has gone so far as to create a podcast centered around Viking lore, which dropped last week on Spotify, and has now released a nearly seven and a half minute deep dive trailer, showing you everything that you can expect when you take control of Eivor.

“Learn everything you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the Deep Dive Trailer! Explore how to grow your settlement, customize your Viking, and even journey to new worlds as you expand your clan’s influence throughout England and beyond,” Ubisoft North America said in the trailer’s YouTube Description.

The trailer introduces Eivor and talks about his or her role as a member of the Raven Clan. It then shows off the Viking settlement, which is described as being a central point of interest for many of the game’s interwoven storylines.

“Here you’ll get familiar with your clan and begin your journey through England,” the trailer’s narrator says.

This video introduces a number of supporting NPCs and lays out the world of Ninth Century England and the different kingdoms that make it up.

We also get a look at the game’s large scale battle mode, where Eivor and Viking cohorts use boats to sail into what appears to be an English fort and assault the location.

There also seems to be a large variety of choices that you can make throughout the game, all of which have repercussions throughout the game’s story. The Assassin’s Creed franchise has flirted in the past with making player decisions important, but not to the extent that something like Mass Effect or Dragon Age go to.

We learn a lot about Eivor’s combat abilities, both from a ranged position and up close melee attacks.

One of the game’s weapons is the legendary sword Excalibur, which was the fabled magical blade of King Arthur. In the trailer, we see Eivor wielding the enormous blade to lop off a foe’s head.

The majority of the trailer focuses on the male version of Eivor, which was an odd choice given recent allegations made regarding Ubisoft’s character preferences. However, the concept of gender selection is also touched on. The narrator notes that you can choose between a male or female Eivor and even switch between them throughout the game.

There will also be a function that allows you to journey to Asgard, the realm of the Norse gods.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla releases on November 10 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It will also release on the PlayStation 5 when the console drops on November 12.
