Here’s the deal – from October 10 at 5:00 AM PT until October 17 at 11:59 PM PT, all you need to do is gift ONE sub to ANY Marvel Rivals streamer and voila, you get this awesome “The Man Without Fear” Twitch chat badge. And the best part? It is a global badge, so it appears in every Twitch chat you join, not just the one for the streamer you gifted. That is definitely a way to show off your fandom.
Nonetheless, the community’s response was not entirely negative. Players’ reactions were varied, from being thrilled to being bewildered. Superdiefi was the one who wanted “Brazilian dub and a Nintendo Switch 2 version!,” and that led to some platform drama – Jetstream_Sam__ replied to someone’s question: “Last thing I need is a switch player throwing my elo,” which, oof, that’s some cross-platform shade right there.
But all in all, this Twitch sub event is a pretty smart move by Marvel Rivals. It boosts the visibility of the streamers, encourages community interaction, and gives exclusive rewards for the players’ support. Plus, the timing is also very curious – running for an entire week allows everyone enough time to participate, be it through catching their favorite streamer’s usual schedule or by discovering someone new.
