Mario Kart Awaited Long Enough; Now Nintendo Games Are Officially Challenged at the World Invitational, Happening Right Now In Tokyo. In Fact, You Might Be Watching One of the Two Streams As I Write This-One Is Parents And Kids from 9:30 PM October 4th-October 5th, Midnight General Tournament. That’s karting for two entire days, and I am good with it!
The replies to Nintendo’s announcement tweet are just crazy. It’s like everyone would have been excited for a huge gaming tournament, but instead, it’s just chaos. Someone named Plainrock124 downright called the game garbage, saying he wouldn’t even want to watch professionals play it. So harsh, really?? Then all this weird comparison starts flying between Mario Kart World and Sonic Racing Crossworlds. I think it’s strange, but apparently, there is an issue there? One user was like: “Why is Mario kart $80 and worse than sonic racing crossworlds?” so…here you go.
They already gave me some chuckles. A very angry @Ashton68781988 then went on a long rant in all-caps: “MARIO KART WORLD IS NOT A DOG GAME,” and honestly, it made me chuckle. Like, for real, people are seriously fighting about kart racing games as if they were a matter of life and death. Meanwhile, others are seeking DLC and character costumes, with Dr.Medic(Echsrick) begging Nintendo to “please add outfits for characters that dont have them like hammer bro and dry bones” and take stats off the characters and karts. That is actually a really fair request. Stat-based setups basically ensure everybody picks the same setups, which gets boring after a while.
There seemed to be some sonic jokes over in the replies. User @kyle_hyde shared some UK and Japan sales figures and said, “I’ll just leave this UK and Japan data and leavy slowly,” which I guess is supposed to be some sort of flex? Then Neronic proceeded to savage another user by replying, “Sonic going fast in everything but game sales,” in all honesty. Console wars did not really end after all; they have just mutated into a very strange Twitter argument about racing games, I guess.
Here’s hoping not everyone is a sore loser! Some people are actually excited about the tournament. BearUNLV posted an awesome pic, saying, “It’s going to be a great show.” David H Brown offered a very nice message, wishing the participants good luck and saying those haters are winners if they post that RV picture without giving the game a chance. What’s that RV picture? There’s gotta be some inside joke I’m missing…
And hey, Collective Capsule shared a cool little tidbit-the game actually turns Cow (which in older Mario Kart games was just an environmental/NPC animal) into a full-fledged, playable racer. It’s very funny?? Seriously, out of all the characters they could add, they chose a cow. No, I’m not mad. That’s brilliant.
It looks fairly smoothly run, with different events for skill levels and age groups. The Parents and Kids stream has got to be good, like those little age groups just straight-up wrecking their parents at Mario Kart. Gotta have that on my feed. The General tournament is where the seriously skilled players are gonna be taking each other on. I mean, if you think about it, we could really be looking at the best Mario Kart players in the whole world-not bad.
But even before starting, the demanding crowd: A LOSTLEAD8R users asking for achievements on PlayStation Switch 2, which, I guess, we do not even know if it exists, do we? And itsmagomalvado basically almost called Nintendo aggressive for the tournament announcement when he said, “At least give us some DLC instead of going silent.” I mean, chill a little?? The tournament hasn’t even started, and they are already complaining about lack of content updates.
Nice timing too-this is going to be happening at Nintendo Live 2025 TOKYO, so it has to be their big annual event thing. So, there are probably going to be other announcements and stuff rolling in around the same time too; however, no one is really talking about it in the replies. The entire focus is on the Mario Kart drama, which is just simple gaming community behavior.
Funny enough, some people have treated this as a betrayal. Unlike an Elite tournament announcement by Nintendo, gamers go on to “WHERE’S MY DLC” and “WHY IS SONIC BETTER” and “THIS GAME IS TRASH”. A rare cycle in the gaming community of never satisfied, always asking for more. But those that are secretly excited to witness some high-grade Mario Kart action are the ones that really count.
Regardless of the Twitter drama, they should be good streams to watch. Elite Mario Kart is always a good time to watch because of crazy item management and positioning strategies. Those guys aren’t just driving well; they’re also calculating probabilities, movements of opponents, and everything else. It’s way more complex than people give it credit for.
So, in those moments right now, Mario Kart World Invitational 2025 happening with broken community again, and wild gameplay will be served up over the upcoming days. Everyone either loves this game or hates it all the way, and that alone is a hearsay to the trading that Nintendo managed to do when it got people talking. So, if you want to see why Gordizzo got his name out there, check out the live streams.
