League of Legends Esports felt like throwing in a poll on their WhatsApp community, “Who do you think will take home that trophy this LEC Summer Split?” G2 took the trophy; quite predictable. The others, my God, are purely funny.
Let’s talk about the poll, then. G2 was leading comfortably, and it does make sense. After all, they’ve been reigning over Europe for some time now. The drama was really Karmine Corp sitting pretty at 9%, Fnatic above them somehow, and NAVI barely scraping 1.7%; oh boy, that actually broke some hearts. The NAVI account clowned back: “Imagine having less than 1.7% ðŸ˜.” Harsh, ain’t it?
Then there was the French community, and they promptly were NOT happy. One user went on to say, “How the fk is Fnatic above Karmine Corp?” Another said the poll was “rage bait.” Meanwhile, yet another chimed in that it was “crazy” to see SK Gaming above Vitality. And honestly? Fair enough.
Here comes the funniest bit: the whole argument about using WhatsApp as a platform. The official G2 account teased: “Wait the WhatsApp community smart as hell,” while another user replied: “Who the fk even votes on WhatsApp?” There was even a claim that French don’t even use it, which… is a fair point?
Malrang when playing support: “1.7% is trusting Malrang support, that’s weird…” Yeah, very funny.
You know what? The best was the disbelief over even some of these teams getting votes. BDS at 0.5% got the comment: “Who chose BDS rn.” Meanwhile, the NAVI fans were struggling with: “At least you have more chances than GX and BDS.” Silver lining, perhaps?
Oh yeah, and there are the usual comments about G2 not worthy: “After what I saw from them it should be anyone but not g2 😂😂.” Harsh, but hey, competition breeds excellence.
So what does it boil down to? Easy: G2 is the favorite and the French are angry, and WhatsApp polls are a mess. But above all? There is a LEC revival, and it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
