More pixie dust was thrown onto the teasing. After they confirmed that the live show is back and that they are wrapping up their playthrough of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart while teasing another mystery game, all sounded well for PlayStation fans. The reply section became full of demand, memes, and absolute chaos thanks to the Xbox crowd.
The tweet was released early in the day, letting everyone know Insomniac Live is back on air, finishing their playthrough of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and teasing the next game they’ll be playing. The studio gave no clues about what come next, but that did not stop hyping or begging for ports from the Xbox bunch.
And the reply section just turned into chaos! The Xbox-side players want Ratchet & Clank for their console, even though Insomniac belongs to Sony and the game is a PS4 exclusive. A user @XboxJoker33 just said: “Bring it to Xbox as well,” and @1337GoldenBoy replied, “First day buy if it comes to Xbox, no bullshit.” The PS gang were just laughing all the way: @askirsten said: “Xbots dreaming about PlayStation games. We see it here. Lol.”
But that wouldn’t just be a usual console war; some gamers are salty about Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart itself. @watchoutford called it “great but WAY TOO SHORT,” while @Aukan52963 is complaining about “DEI’s Insomniac version” of Ratchet, whatever that means. Then there are those asking for the old games to be remastered, saying, @symboltherapper: “We really need that OG trilogy remastered/remade…or at least the future trilogy.”
Now, Wolverine is an entirely different conversation. The instant Insomniac announced Marvel’s Wolverine almost a decade ago, fans have been holding their breath for updates. @daboss208 simply put it: “Insomniac we don’t give a fuck we want wolverine.” Then @MidnightCapitan laughed, saying: “I forgot this studio existed for a minute. Still no news on Wolverine huh? Not even a sneak peek or anything. We gonna get GTA6 first aren’t we?”
Spider-Man 2 Is another matter altogether; @BlindSpideyFan asked if they will “finish Spider-Man 2,” referring to an unfinished playthrough, and @WebbJarred screamed about the suits: “You know whats not up? THE SUITS!!!!! GIVE US THE SUITS!!!!!”
So what is the other game that Insomniac is next-level teasing? For the time being, we do not know. Could it be Wolverine (doubt it), could it be Spider-Man 2 DLC (maybe?), could it be something completely new. But, oddly enough, Insomniac sure knows how to get everyone talking-even if Xbox players spend half the replies crying about exclusives.
If you want to tune in for this live show, then do so on the official channel. And do not hold your breath for Ratchet & Clank on Xbox anytime soon, unless Sony suddenly goes nuts and starts actually supporting multiplatform releases-well, that’s never going to happen.
Sigh. Oh well, at least, technically, Wolverine is still under development. Right? Right?
