New game modes are coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare soon, as Infinity Ward confirmed as much in their latest community update.

While speaking about what’s coming to Modern Warfare, the developers said that they’re working on old favorite modes like Deathmatch Domination. Additionally, Infinity Ward said that there’s a new version of Gunfight coming that’ll feature updated loadouts.

“We’re also working on some fun twists on old favorites, like Deathmatch Domination,” said Infinity Ward in their latest community update. “And we’re working on a version of Gunfight with some updated loadouts. We also have some more 2XP events coming your way over the next few weeks too, so stay tuned for more details!”

If you’re not familiar with the Deathmatch Domination mode, it’s more kill-focused than standard domination, hence the name. In the mode, each player’s kill count will be a factor in their team’s overall score, so if you’re the type of player who likes to focus on your K/D ratio during standard domination matches, then this mode will be perfect for you.

According to reliable Call of Duty insider TheGamingRevolution, there’s a Battle Royale mode coming to Modern Warfare, and originally, it supposed to be released at the end of this month. However, according to the insider, its release date has been pushed back. He didn’t give any further details, nor did he give a specific reason for the delay other than “it needs more time.”

It’s worth noting that, even though Modern Warfare’s Battle Royale mode has been rumored since before the game was released, the developers haven’t confirmed the mode, nor have they even teased it. So, as of this writing, we should take the long-standing Battle Royale rumor with a grain of salt.

While the mode hasn’t been announced by Infinity Ward or Activision, there have been a few “leaks” about it, one of which claims that it’ll be capable of hosting 200 players, doubling the traditional amount of Battle Royale participants.

Recently, Infinity Ward revealed that the end date for season one of Modern Warfare has been pushed back until the middle of next month, which might mean that they need more time to put the finishing touches on the rumored Battle Royale mode. So, while it hasn’t been confirmed, don’t be surprised if it doesn’t get added as part of Modern Warfare’s season two update.

Infinity Ward has been providing weekly updates about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, so we’ll probably have more news regarding what’s coming to the game in season two very soon.
