Nintendo has declared the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment release date, and there is no doubt the gamers are pretty much mental already. The game will go live on November 6, but the defeated Demon King Ganondorf, who has been quelled, will come back to vie in a fight. Players will be joining Rauru’s and Sages’ ranks with a couple of new allies to save the kingdom, thus becoming a part of the larger event which is sure to be the most important of the autumn.

The announcement was initially made via Nintendo of America’s Twitter handle where, besides a tweet, a trailer was also shared showing the storyline, and battles, which were also built up. The reaction was immediate and crazy, as if it were a case of a Warriors game. People on the social media platform were like: “I am so excited,” some complained about the price and a few just wanted to know what on earth the decisions about Zelda’s shoes are. Just normal internet stuff.

So, what is very much Age of Imprisonment? It is the latest edition of the Hyrule Warriors spin-off series, it takes the iconic and loved Zelda characters and allows them to battle in the midst of hundreds of enemies on the battlefield. The player seems to explore the ancient past this time around as Rauru comes to the audience for his time. One observer commented that the visuals of the game are a giant step forward especially with that classic Zelda’s Lullaby remix at the end, which is already provoking feelings in the audience.

The players’ reactions have been extremely different. Among them there are Violet who is simply dying with anticipation, her message is in full caps “AAAA I CAN’T WAIT”. Then there is Peepee Poopoo Man (yes, that is really their name!) begging for lower prices. Ethan Luke Robben is raising his hand asking for a demo, which to be fair is pretty reasonable. And KeziaTv is already feeling bad about Pokemon and she is saying they should have just waited for this one instead.

However, there are still some who don’t consider the transition to be good news. JOSH look at the whole situation and concluded that it was just another Warriors game with a “canonical” label stuck on it. He likened it to a Mad Libs generator for prequel stories, which is a bit harsh but at the same time cheekily funny. Meanwhile, Alexander has straightforwardly declared, “We will not be buying” offering no explanation. Nice story, dude.

Still, the hype train is really powerful and moving full steam ahead. Paul Gale Network has a countdown for the day, indicating that just 13 days remain until release. DReager1 was referring to it as “top-tier stuff” which would dominate November. Welltree is eager to share the game with their spouse through two-player mode. And olaf is already planning to cry over that Zelda’s Lullaby remix, which is totally the vibe.

A heated debate is going on regarding the Switch 2 exclusivity matter. A couple of people have asked whether the Age of Calamity would receive a graphics upgrade for the new console or not. Limit Breaking Hero was the one who specifically brought up the issue of frame rate concerns, to which TheHeebeieJeebler countered that it is at least a stable 30fps but would require an upgrade for 60 or 120. Without delving into too many technical details, the general consensus is that people are fine with the exclusivity even though JOSH labeled it “the least surprising news of the day.”

The selection of characters in the game has also become a hot topic. Ossisims is all excited about “more queeen soniaa” and urging her to slay, which is pretty much the same as we are. Justin Lawson pointed out the same that from the trailer the characters Link; Tulin; Yunobo; Sidon; Riju; Kohga and Sooga are probably not present. Whereas, MooseMan is questioning whether Zelda’s feet get dirty during battles when she wears sandals all the time. Priorities, people!

Gamers are placing pre-orders, and dxj15231 has already reported that they have their copy reserved. But Sylax is the modern gamer incarnate, rating the game as dope, but not buying at launch as they will be watching a YouTuber playing in 1080p. The battle is real.

It is abundantly clear that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has caused the kind of controversy that only Nintendo gamers can create, though the reaction is mixed but passionate. It appears that the combination of gamers’ favorite characters and adventurous storylines from the Zelda universe is favored by the majority, even though some are skeptical and think it is just another prequel saga. The graphics are awesome and the focus on Rauru and the Sages is particularly striking as those who have seen Tears of the Kingdom did not feel its lore was rich enough according to one comment.

There are less than two weeks left before the game drops, and the countdown has commenced. The question is – whether you are more eager to see the plot unfold or the exhilarating battles or just being introduced to Queen Sonia, November 6 is going to be a vibrant day for PlayStation and Xbox users as well. The game seems to carry on the mighty legacy of Hyrule Warriors games while at the same time, expanding the Zelda universe in new ways. If only they could reduce the prices and have a demo, then everyone would be happy. But honestly, it is highly improbable since it is a Zelda game and we all would end up buying it regardless.
