The latest news is that Hatsune Miku is likely to rejoin Fortnite, or who knows, she could be making her debut? No, she had an appearance in Rocket League. However, it’s all the same, the leak from SamLeakss has the community flipping over it. Some are so hyped up that they scream, while others… are not at all excited. It’s really a mixed bag of emotions.
The source tweet that first revealed this simply stated, “NEW HATSUNE MIKU COLLAB IN THE NEAR FUTURE” together with the leak’s source acknowledgment to SamLeakss. It was very vague, no specifics, no timelines, nothing but that maddening “near future” that drives people to madness. Nevertheless, it hasn’t prevented Fortnite users from now having some very strong reactions.
So, let’s clarify it properly for those who aren’t very much into the anime collab scene. Hatsune Miku is an extremely popular holographic pop singer from Japan who has the distinct blue double ponytail hairstyle and is, in fact, a symbol of the VocaIoid music production software. She has had skins in games, including Rocket League but not Fortnite yet. That’s like a big deal, just like being able to listen to “World is Mine” while building massive ramps.
The replies to the tweet are complete chaos which is pretty normal for this type of Fortnite leak. There are people like Blu who simply keep on shouting “AAHHHH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YEAHHHH WOOOOHOOOO” which sums up the vibe perfectly. Then there’s Lᴏʟʙɪᴛᴇʀ0Pʟᴀʏ who posts the classic “LET’S FUCKING GOOOOOOOO” which we have all felt at some time when our preferred collab gets leaked.
But not everyone is on board with the idea of this crossover taking place. User cade1438 made the harshest comment possible: “FUCK NO SHE’S THE WORSR COLLAB IN FORTNITE HISTORY” – oh my, that was really mean. And leahspv simply said “doing anything to ruin the game” which is… dramatic but still somewhat acceptable.
Scottling being so divided about this issue among the community is the most remarkable thing. There are some players who can’t wait to see other Vocaloid characters with them as well. KeybladeScar is asking for Luka and Meiko, while Neqtuen is asking for Rin and Len. And at the same time, there’s another group that is asking for Teto, who, it turns out, is another Vocaloid adjacent character? There are so many comments saying “WE WANT TETO, TETO>MIKU” and maxetsu even accused Shiina of promising Teto and then not delivering. Such drama!
Moreover, it is still a matter of confusion where this collaboration will exactly take place. Drift Tracker thinks “It might just be for Rocket League” while NotCurlyEnough answers “It needs to come back in Rocket League as well” so… which one is it? The original leak does not mention so we are just left to wonder.
FluffyMarsh commented on the hope of “Platinum a Version” and other artists getting Platinum skins which was great, it hints that this might not be just a character skin. Perhaps a complete set with different styles will be coming? It would be really slaughter.
Some are already predicting the collaboration’s shapes. oliver is demanding the “christmas miku” which is like, we are barely in autumn but one should look ahead I guess. And TiTanSwan27 is asking the right question: “Is it going to happen this time?” because honestly, there are no leaks that turn out to be real.
Some responses are so daring that they are almost very personal. Shrek5onBluRay says: “Shiina…don’t do this to me….” as if they are on the verge of emotional breakdown because of a Fortnite leak. Just like 0Minto1 is claiming for more details to be revealed right away, which is, like, you’re honestly not the only one.
And then randomly some requests for Metal Gear Solid are also made because why not? Just out of nowhere, sniperrpost asks, “what about metal gear?” in the midst of the Miku chaos. The priorities are totally mixed up.
It’s also very obvious the great line between the fans of anime and the… non-anime fans. MotorCityMania_ sharp and to the point just says “F— anime” and that’s it, no further clarification, while xfortnitegirlyx insists “we don’t want this” – apparently, she is speaking on behalf of the entire community.
At the same time, however, the expressions of liking the idea come. navlld shouts: “Do it!” and many others are excited to play on their PlayStation or Xbox consoles.
