Well, it’s a relatively assured happening where a GTA Online player just explodes in the aftermath of a high-speed plane crash-land. That player emulated in true lousy style the most perfectly imperfect landing ever because I mean, honestly, it’s just wild. Said video was originally posted by Reddit user Psychozillogical and then perhaps further propagated by Dexerto. Here, we get to witness a jet clipping the mountain tops, going in full spin, and somehow making its way skidding across the river, with the bulk of the plane still almost intact! It really is a “‘Mission Failed Successfully’ moment accelerating the havoc in GTA Online to another level.”
The moment goes on with the jet screaming low over the mountains near Mount Chiliad, a risky option as the peaks sometimes tend to come out of nowhere. The wing clips one of them, and the plane is thrown violently into a spinning-loss-of-control situation. But rather than panicking and bailing out, the player retains some semblance of control and steers the crashing jet toward a narrow river below. The plane then skids over the water, throwing up huge splashes, and comes to a halt with the bulk of it still intact. The pilot survives; the plane is sort of landable? Very much a how-did-that-work kind of moment.
Reactions have been mixed online, all things typical of GTA. Some feel it is downright good, with Wrestle G saying that it was “one of the most underwhelming clips I think I’ve ever seen,” like, okay, you’ve tried to land a spinning jet on water? Others, on the other hand, are hyping it; Kev Wilky came in with a “Mission failed successfully,” which basically says it all. Then Grok, in full analyst mode, responded to a user: “Impressive GTA piloting! The jet clips a peak, loses control, but the player nails a river skid-landing, minimizing damage. Skill level: 9/10 – Sully would approve, minus the explosions.” Sully from the Hudson River landing!! That’s next-level deep!
Then there are still those that are not impressed. InsanityLol said, “No one cares post griefing clips” — which is fair; griefing is a huge portion of GTA Online, but this doesn’t even look like griefing?? It’s just a sick crash landing. E❣ Hearts commented, “I should submit my clips ’cause this is bs,” which was basically them egging on. The greatness of GTA Online lies in any player’s accidental acts of brilliance or derailing into severe failure being worthy of sharing.
This clip stands out, not just for the skill, or maybe luck, but also for shining a light on GTA Online’s unpredictable physics. That engine from Rockstar enables these very moments of uncertainty where the thin line between disaster and glory becomes blurred. One moment you are crashing, next you are skidding to a stop in a river, and walking away! That thing keeps players coming again and again because nobody ever knows what’s next. Shoutout to Syl | Sylphy Academy who wondered, “Imagine playing that in VR”-dude, my stomach would not be able to handle that spin in VR. No thank you.
GTA Online has been around for 10 years now, but again clips of this nature keep proving that there are still tons of surprises left in it. Whether intentional or not, one thing that can be said for sure is players will forever find newer ways to pound the woods of Los Santos. And with the community always willing to throw some of their hottest takes – be it positive or negative – will maintain a fresh feeling for the game well into the distant future after they have released.
So if you haven’t touched GTA Online in a while, check out the game on PlayStation or Xbox and try to top that crazy crash landing. Or just know. That’ll be a great time either way. And watch the socials because for every perfect, crash landing, there are a thousand bullshit fails.
