During the lead-up to the Game Preview release of Grounded 2, Xbox was spoiled with one of the most truly weirdly fabulous giveaways ever: the cotton-luxury first-ever shedding plush: the giant 10-feet ant. Yes, you read that right. Not a typo. Not a fever-dream. The giant 10-FEET unmissable bug. And the gamers are losing their minds.
The official tweet from Xbox went out announcing a sweepstake whereby players must follow along and repost with the hashtag #Grounded2Sweepstakes to get their glancing chance at winning the bug. No purchase necessary for the sweepstake (because really, can you even fit a ten-foot-ant in your living room?). The contest ends on August 31, 2025.
The reactions have been pouring in, some in raving enthusiasm and others in complete disbelief. Rogue Agent (@AlexSch00195791) is probably the best way to put it: “That looks amazing”. Matt (@_M317) joked, “That is a conversation starter if I’ve ever seen one.” Well, yes, indeed. Just imagine having to explain it to your landlord.
One or two replies even went out nostalgic. VoidWizard88 (@xVoidWizard88) answered, “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids 2”, and that makes sense. The concept of Grounded is about being tiny in a giant-sized backyard, so the giant ant plush really gels well with the vibe. Soulbound TV (@Soulbound_TV) said, “Xbox really said ‘go big or go bug’.”
Other replies told an entirely different story. Iron the Duck (@IronDuckjcm) used merchandising decisions of Avowed with: “This gives me the Avowed vibes… At this point I expect Grounded 2 to be as successful as Avowed.” Ouch. Harsh, but hey, skepticism is half the gaming community’s charm.
Most players are hyped. David Martinez (@Amondoomguy) claims it’s gonna be GOTY, while Pixel (@pixelluma) says, “That’s one giant ant! Can’t wait to play Grounded 2 in Game Preview.” The hype is very real, and frankly, so am I.
The real question would be: Where do you even put a 10-foot ant plush? Gnattervid (@gnattervid) wondered whether these would go on sale because some honest people need this in their lives. Dalton Brown (@The_McBrown) simply said, “Need this in my life,” which, honestly, is mood.
