Genshin Impact is slowly revealing details about their upcoming event, which will also take place in the snowy Dragonspine mountains. The event dubbed ‘Soulblazers’ Snowbound Journey’ will officially commence on December 19, 2025, and players will be engaged in cross-country races as well as other mini-games. In addition to the event-exclusive weapon Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow (which is a bow, of course), players will get to enjoy Primogems, a Crown of Insight, some outdoor furniture, and so on. It will be like a very winter sports festival in Teyvat!
What about the players? They are not solely concerned with getting the loot. The main reason for the Community members’ excitement is that Varesa will return to the game (and Xilonen too). But mainly Varesa. The @GenshinImpact official tweet about the event was the first drop that led the community to go on a loving rampage for Varesa. One player, Slyxswamp, for example, came up with a poetic outburst: ‘If Varesa has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Varesa has ten fans, then I am one of them… If the world is against Varesa, then I am against the world.’ That is some serious commitment. That is real fanaticism. That is the person who has already prepared the materials for his in-game wife.
But they are not the only ones. The comments section is flooded with ‘MY WIFEEEEE’ and ‘MY PRECIOUS WIFE !!!!!’ from different accounts all in caps and showering a plethora of heart emojis. Another user, Erbi, went nuts when he said ‘VARESA XILONEN AND NATLAN AS A WHOLE MENTIONED‼️‼️‼️’ and put a bunch of fire emojis. It is thus clear that the event is not simply about gameplay for most players—everyone gets these Natlan character types and the player base that has been waiting for them to speak is ecstatic in a very good way.
But let’s take a short break and concentrate on the actual event things for a moment. The description has made promises like ‘Thrilling cross-country race’ and ‘various fun games’. One smart player, Dry_ice_52, speculated if it is something similar to the old Natlan tests where you would be rewarded with coins; he said ‘im in :D’. Venti would surely instigate a chaotic winter sports festival.
And then there are the players who consider every event as a money-making opportunity. Several comments are just about saving for future characters. One user says, ‘More funds for Columbina.’ Another states, ‘1000 primogems for Columbina,’ and a user quietly shows their aim, ‘We don’t want pooresa,’ implying they are saving up Primogems and not spending on this event’s weapon. The grind does not stop even during a fun snow day.
Some are just there for the leisure. Ilman Shazhaev noted, ‘Dragonspine events really bring a great energy! The quick races and mini-games offer a refreshing break from the usual grind.’ And Moosashi had a very special and enthusiastic reaction: ‘WINDTRACE~!!!! Er, I mean… SNOWTRACE~!!!! Can’t wait to play an unhealthy amount of this. Lots to make up in its year-and-a-half absence.’ So it looks like there might be a return of a hide-and-seek style mini-game, which is a community favorite.
On the other hand, there are few people who are not fully satisfied. One Chongyun main, tkm_chongyun, sarcastically answered the complainants: ‘What is the point if I cannot win Chongyun’s skin?’ Fair point, my man. Fair point.
Taking a step back and looking at the whole picture, this event is typical of Genshin Impact. They are reviving a region loved by many, Dragonspine, through a limited-time festival. It will give the veterans a reason to return to a beautiful area and at the same time remind the new players of one of the game’s most difficult regions through a guided tour, all packaged in a low-stakes, reward-heavy manner. The exclusive weapon is a great bait, especially for bow users on PlayStation and Xbox.
